Though the forest restoration was on his to-do list, Felix wasn't in any particular hurry to kick off that project. He had more immediate concerns. Turning his gaze to the cave behind the waterfall, he refocused on his main objective.
In front of the cave's entrance, a gruesome sight awaited him. An imposing pile of basilisk corpses, now charred and crumbling, were blocking his path.
These once-menacing lamia-like creatures had devolved into little more than grotesque snake carcasses. Their bodies, while scorched and lifeless, still retained the eerie hint of humanoid curves beneath their reptilian scales.
"Evolved lamias, huh?" Felix muttered to himself, unimpressed.
