Isadora sobbed uncontrollably all the way home, leaving Ava increasingly concerned as she repeatedly asked what was wrong, only to be met with silence. Ava had witnessed Isadora's parents arrive and try to call her, but it was too late, and now she sensed that something distressing had occurred.
As soon as they arrived home, Isadora rushed out of the car, clutching the paper, and fled to her room, locking herself in. Her cries grew louder and more intense, prompting Ava to knock on the door anxiously, fearing that Isadora might harm herself in her distraught state.
Ava decided to reach out to her brother Liam, rather than Maxwell, due to Maxwell's actions the previous day and her lack of contact information for Isadora's boyfriend. When Liam answered on the second ring, Ava said, "Hello, brother. How are you?"
"I'm fine, but what's wrong?" Liam asked, noticing her tone filled with worry.
"I'm fine, but Isadora... something's wrong," Ava replied.
