The whole day had exhausted Ruby. By the time dinner was over, sleep was already pulling at her eyes, but she didn't waste a single bite, finishing her meal properly.
Dragging herself to her room, she didn't even bother freshening up. As soon as her head touched the pillow, she was out like a light.
Meanwhile, in Julian and Karl's room, Karl lay on the bed with his hands behind his head, lazily watching Julian. His eyes narrowed as he observed Julian holding a small mirror and carefully applying a homemade face pack.
Karl squinted suspiciously. "You know, Julian… we're not fools. I know exactly what's going on in your head."
Julian, completely unbothered, continued smoothing the paste over his face.
Karl suddenly sat up, pointing a finger at Julian. "And why do you always come out of stupid wife's room early in the morning, huh? Don't think I haven't noticed! You sneak into her room when everyone's asleep, don't you?"
