Chapter 1 - Prologue - Death of the Machines

The God of Machines sat idly as he watched the armies of the High Gods storm his base. He didn't bother trying to activate his defense protocols - though he was certain he could wipe out their current army, it would just delay the inevitable. After all, his calculations were rarely wrong.

He had already prepared for his extended departure. He packed away his most powerful fabrications and hid his research logs in several Sanctums. As for his aspects… Well, he didn't have any.

Eventually, the combined armies blew down the last of his reinforced blast doors. He recognised the faces of the six other High Gods; Light, Beasts, Space, War, Magic, and Elementals. He sat up straight in his high-tech throne.

The God of Light stepped forward.

"By the will of five out of the seven High Gods, you are to relinquish complete control of what is known as the ██████! Failure to do so will result in imprisonment in a demi-plane cut off from all kinds of comm-"

"Ah, hell. We all know that I won't do it. Just get on with zapping me away already."

As a High God, he knew what being banished to a demi-plane was like. He zapped a few Lesser Gods himself.

The God of Light squinted at him. "The only reason this is happening is because you refuse to give us the slightest amount of information, let alone control, over something that's fully integrated into our Kingdoms! We are unwilling to leave such a massive security ris-"

"A security risk that is your responsibility. You dumb "Gods" were flooded with greed when I revealed it to you. You didn't even ask if I was finished."

It was the Beast God's turn to speak. "Enough! Let us rid ourselves of him at once! He'll pay the price if he is unwilling to cooperate."

The Machine God remembered killing the Beast God. It seemed that he remembered too.

The other High Gods murmured in agreement. Only the Goddess of Elementals remained silent.

The God of Machines didn't resist as multiple runic circles appeared around him. He could feel his very soul being sucked into another plane.

He wasn't worried about being trapped in a demi-plane. Eternity was a long time, and eventually, something would happen that would let him escape.

The God of Light looked up from the spell the High Gods were collectively casting. "Any last words before your imprisonment?"

The God of Machines chuckled. "Bite my shiny metal ass."

And with a bright flash of light, the Great Machine God was gone.
