"RING!"
They groaned and cursed when the alarm rang. She slowly opened her eyes, muttering under her breath when she felt the sun's warm rays hit her face. She covered her ears, not wanting to hear the birds chirping. Marley ran her fingers through her messy hair, Tiana rubbed her eyes, and Jackie put her glasses on. Kaitlyn and Laurent still slept, unfazed by the alarm's persistent ringing. Tiana tapped Laurent, waking him up.
"Not now, Tiana!" He cried.
"Get up Laurent! We've got school."
"Fuck off, I'm staying home."
"If I'm going, then you're going too. Or else, I'll tell Mom you broke curfew."
"Fine."
Tiana padded out of the room. Marley and Jackie followed a while later, Kaitlyn slung over Jackie's shoulders. Julianne wondered why the girl was fond of leaving her in the same room with him. especially since he made her feel uncomfortable.
"You coming too, Sparky? I mean, you don't have to go but-"
"I'd love to come, despite how tired I am, but my uniforms are back at the apartment."
"Tiana has a couple of uniforms, I'm sure she wouldn't mind giving you one. I know I've asked you this but, are you sure you want to come?"
"I'm sure. I need to talk to Mr. Heathrow about this, but I don't have his number. I can ask Kyrie for it, that's why I've gotta go."
"Fine by me. I should go."
He left the room, leaving her alone, for the first time during her stay A while later, the uniform was brought and soon, she was ready. Marley, Kaitlyn, and Jackie waved them off as they left.

She couldn't remember the last time she had felt so tired in class. That was because she had never snuck out of the house only to return by one in the morning, leave because your caretaker's husband is a creep, and finally go to bed by four in the morning. That was until the previous day.
She caught sight of Jacques as he made his way to their desk. She had a wide grin on his face, seeing his tired eyes. She took her words back, the pain and torment she went through the previous day was worth it, he looked terrible.
"Hey hotshot, what's up?"
"Fuck you."
She giggled, hearing the annoyance in his voice. "You look terrible."
"You also look terrible."
"What happened to you yesterday? Why were you at Hathaway Estate?"
"It's a long story, you don't want to hear it."
"But I do!"
"I don't want to say it."
"Spoilsport...what's with the nickname? Sparky? Seriously?"
"I have no idea what he was thinking when he gave me that terrible name."
"Does it annoy you that much?"
"Yes, it does!"
"That's too bad. Since it annoys you so much, I'll call you Sparky.
"Do it and I'll break your nose."
"I'd like to see you try."
She smiled when the Mathematics professor walked into the room. She was happy she wouldn't have to deal with Mr. Robinson's lectures, she was sure she would lose her mind if she heard it. She opened her books and listened, lost in his voice.
Recess came earlier than she expected. She spotted Kyrielle easily, she was with Courtney and Tracy, engrossed in their conversation.
"Hi Kyrie," she said.
Kyrie stopped talking and turned to face her. "Hi, Julie! I haven't seen you in forever!"
Courtney scoffed while Tracy remained silent. She ignored their judgmental stares and resumed her conversation with Kyrie. "I wanted to talk to you about something if you don't mind."
"Sure I'm all ears!"
She eyed Courtney and Tracy suspiciously. "In private if you don't mind."
Kyrie turned back to Courtney and Tracy. "I'll be back guys."
"You aren't seriously going with her!" Courtney snapped.
"Stop being such a drama queen. I said I would be back!"
Courtney scoffed as she marched to the counter. Tracy went with her, still not saying a word. Kyrie led her outside the school, taking her to a grove of aspens by the school.
"So, what is it you wanted to talk about?"
"Well, I…"
"Wait! Before you begin, I want to apologize for Peyton's behavior at your party. It was inexcusable and disgusting and…"
"It's fine Kyrie. It wasn't your fault, besides, he apologized."
"Right, sorry for cutting you off. What was it again?"
"I'm not staying with Mrs. Everton, I left this morning."
"Did Rachel do something?"
"It wasn't her, it was her husband."
Kyrie's nose wrinkled at the mention of his name. "Don't tell me he…"
"He didn't Kyrie, I ran away."
"That disgusting old bastard. Where are you staying?"
"Hathaway Estate."
A huge grin appeared on her face. "Are you serious Julie? That's so cute!"
"Kyrie!" She cried.
"Sorry, I have to tell my dad about this, you should come with us!"
"Sure."
She glanced at her wristwatch. The recess was almost over. "We should go Kyrie, recess is almost over."
She nodded and they walked out of the grove.
The school was over in a flash. She walked to Kyrie's class hesitantly, knowing she was there with Courtney and Tracy. She got to the classroom and as she had suspected, they were there.
"We've got to go to the salon and get our nails done. I got a reservation and-"
"I'm sorry, Courtney," Kyrie said to her, "But I've got plans with Julianne, another time."
"You're ditching us for her? Are you kidding me?"
"You promised Kyrie!"
"That's why I said I'm sorry. I've gotta go."
She walked to the wall where Julianne lazily leaned on. "Seems like I've ruined your plans with your BFFs."
"They'll come through, eventually. We should go."
As they walked through the hallway, she heard her phone's notification sound. Pulling it out of her pocket, she saw she had received a text from Laurent.
Green-eyed moron: Where are you???
"You saved his number as 'Green-eyed moron' ?"
"Quit looking Kyrie!"
She giggled and stopped looking at the screen. She sighed as she sent her reply.
Me: I'm with Kyrie. We're going to Heathrow Manor.
It didn't take a while before he responded.
Green-eyed moron: Good luck with that.
Me: I don't need luck.
Green-eyed moron: Yeah, right :)
She chuckled as she read his reply. She kept her phone back in her pocket and slung her bag over her shoulder, walking with Kyrie to the parking lot.
