Emily refused to leave the hospital now that Alex was awake. She asked Sam to bring her laptop from home, determined to work from the hospital and prepare for the meeting with Milo the next day. Her sole focus was to throw both Milo and Lydia out of Stratton Enterprises. Alex, watching her dive into work, was concerned. He didn't want her burning herself out, caught between the demands of work and family.
"You can leave that to Ed. Or maybe ask Carla to help?" Alex suggested, his voice gentle but firm.
"No, I've got it. I'm almost done," Emily replied without lifting her head from the screen, her fingers still flying across the keyboard.
"I'll go in with you tomorrow," Alex offered.
"No," Emily rejected his suggestion immediately. "You need to rest and recover. I've already told Ed and Raf to block any news of you waking up."
"I want them gone. I don't want to wait," Alex insisted, his tone turning firm and demanding, much like his old self.
