Emily opened her office door to find Michael McCallen sitting on the couch with a glass of water in front of him. Seeing her enter, he rose and approached her with a polite smile.
"Emily, how are you doing?"
"Hi, Michael," Emily replied, not having expected him. "I'm good. How about you?" She couldn't help but wonder why he was here.
"Not bad. I just came back from Ireland with Eric," Michael replied. After the Winters Enterprises went bankrupt, Olivia's parents sold all their assets and planned to leave London for Ireland. Before they could leave, Mr. Winter was charged with fraud and kept in jail due to the high bail. About two weeks ago, the news of his death in prison shocked everyone. Emily thought about the Winters' recent tragedy, lost in her thoughts.
"We saw Mrs. Winters there," Michael added, referring to Olivia's mother. "She said she couldn't get hold of Olivia for days. Eric is also really worried about her, as you already know."
