Chapter 88 - Lost Memories

Back in Paris, Aiden quickly called the doctor to check on Emily as she woke up. The doctor arrived promptly and conducted a thorough examination. After a few minutes, he looked at Julian and said, "Everything looks normal. Regarding the memory loss, it could be temporary."

"But it could also be permanent?" Julian asked, narrowing his eyes.

"Yes, it could be," the doctor replied. "We won't know for sure. Familiar surroundings with friends and family could help in regaining her memories. I can refer you to a clinic for further evaluation and therapy."

Julian nodded. With a small smile, he added. "Thank you, doctor."

The doctor packed up his equipment and left, leaving Julian to shift his attention back to Emily who sat against the headboard, her eyes vacant and filled with a deep sadness. Aiden entered the room, carrying a tray of food from the cafeteria, and placed it on the table that hovered over the bed.
