After the fireworks show, they returned to their hotel suite. Alex sent Ed a quick reply and then saw Emma running towards him in her pyjamas. "I want Daddy to read to us tonight," she said, taking Alex's hand and turning towards Emily, who was about to put the twins to bed. Emily and Alex exchanged a look, and Alex followed Emma to the bedroom.
In the living room, Emily realized how much deeper the bond between Alex and the twins had grown. Reflecting on their happiness, she found herself smiling. She headed to the bathroom for a quick shower, and after half-drying her hair, she slipped into a short nightgown with thin straps that accentuated her perfect figure.
