After a full day of activities, the twins were exhausted by the time dinner was over. Emily took them to their bedroom to get them ready for bed.
"Sure, I'll wait for you in bed," Alex said as he stopped at the door of the master bedroom, watching Emily walk the twins into their own rooms. His words made Emily subconsciously think of the intimate moments they had shared, and she quickened her steps to the twins' bedrooms, her heart fluttering.
As Alex watched her disappear down the hallway, he turned and entered the master bedroom, laying down on the bed. The room was quiet, filled only with his restless thoughts. He waited for Emily patiently, an anticipation building within him that he couldn't deny.
After what felt like an eternity, Emily finally came into the room. Their eyes met briefly before she quickly said, "I'll go shower," and disappeared into the bathroom, closing the door behind her.
