"Can I have another one, please?" Emma asked.
"Sure," Julian replied. "Would you like one too, Andy?"
Emily woke up to the sound of their conversation. Her eyelids felt heavy, resisting her attempts to open them, but she recognized Emma's voice mixed with Julian's. There was no sound from Andy. She sat up, holding her head low, and kept her eyes shut. Her movement drew the attention of those around her.
"Mommy?" Emma's small voice called out. "Mommy?" Andy echoed.
They're okay, and they're with me, she thought with relief. Still holding her head, she opened her eyes and saw Emma and Andy were looking right at her, concern etched on their young faces. She closed her eyes once more and opened her arms to hold them. The background noise did nothing to help her headache. Emily couldn't figure out where the noise were from.
"Mommy, you're awake," Andy said.
"Mommy, do you want orange juice?" Emma asked.
