Another busy day at school, Emily's alarm rang to remind her to pick up the twins. She rushed to their new school, only to learn that they had already been picked up by their dad. Puzzled for a moment, she quickly headed home, where she found the twins sitting at the dining table with Julian, enjoying some afternoon snacks.
"You're home early," Julian greeted her with a smile.
After joining the twins for a snack, Emily pulled out her laptop and resumed working in her study. She was pacing with her headset on, deep in a business call, when Julian came to fetch her for dinner. When she finally finished returning all the calls, she glanced out of the window; it was already dark. The lights outside illuminated the almost bare trees, with only a few leaves still clinging to the branches.
