Chapter 91 - Peeping into the Abyss, I Am Also the Abyss

Taking a deep breath, Erik forced himself to calm down.

Erik grabbed the handle of the Star Staff again.

Since Stargirl's staff is called the "Cosmic Staff," it must be related to the vast universe.

It is not just a magical staff, but also represents a vast cosmic energy.

Holding the staff, he used his heart to sense those powerful and indescribable existences in the vast starry sky that he once created.

Perhaps those were not creatures he created, but rather existences that the super brain glimpsed in the dark and in dreams. Then, based on subconscious inspiration, he used his brush and words to depict those existences.

That seems to represent a set of rules and higher dimensional laws.

I have gazed into the abyss, so

I am the abyss!

As the fantasy of the starry sky materialized in his mind, the staff in his hand instantly lit up!

A golden light emitted from it, illuminating the entire room.

A torrent of power flowed from the top of the staff to Erik's hand.

The sensation of control transmitted to his hand.

"Justice, compassion, sympathy for the weak… These feelings, these imposed restraints required for the staff's user, are unexpectedly laughable!"

Boom!

Erik thrust the staff into the floor, chuckling softly.

He could feel the staff trying to instill beliefs in its wielder—justice, compassion, and the courage to sacrifice.

However, these beliefs did not affect him at all.

Having mastered all black magic at once, he bypassed the staff's restrictions using higher-level permissions, mastering the staff's usage.

Perhaps those dark existences in the super brain, or the vastness of his mental world after crossing over, enabled him to easily grasp the existence of magic and energy.

Just as with the black magic in the book, he effortlessly controlled the staff before him.

Erik grabbed the staff again, aiming it at his body, sensing the energy lurking within him—the energy produced by the spaceship's radiation.

One of the main functions of the staff is to manipulate cosmic energy. The moment he held the staff, Erik detected the obvious discordant radiation in his body.

Turning around, he looked downstairs at Clark.

His eyes emitted a golden light, observing Clark's internal state.

A green, kryptonite-like cosmic energy was entwining Clark's body.

I can extract it!

Erik grasped the staff, instantly concluding this.

Confirming that he could save Martha and Clark, he immediately activated his super speed and moved towards the hospital.

Small town medical center.

Dr. Helen rushed to Martha's ward after receiving a report from a nurse.

Seeing Martha's near-stopping heartbeat on the monitor, she quickly pressed the emergency call button in the ward.

"Code Blue, Code Blue, Room 117, Code Blue."

After the call, she quickly moved to Martha's side, instructing the nurse to prepare oxygen and a defibrillator.

Preparing the defibrillator, she signaled the surrounding nurses to step back, then delivered a shock to Martha's heart.

A strong current burst forth, causing Martha's body to jerk upwards before quickly falling back down.

"Clear!"

After another warning, Helen generated a current from the defibrillator, shocking Martha's heart again.

Despite repeated attempts, the heart monitor remained flat, and Martha's heart did not resume beating.

"Again! Clear!"

Unwilling to give up, Helen shouted and pressed the defibrillator button once more to resuscitate Martha.

However, Martha's heartbeat remained flat with no fluctuations.

Hearing the piercing beep, Helen shook her head helplessly and gently rebuttoned Martha's clothes.

Glancing at her wristwatch, she said to the surrounding nurses with a heavy heart, "Record the time of death: 2:17 AM."

Boom!

Just as she finished speaking, a sound came from outside the ward.

Helen turned to see Erik standing outside the ward, his face grim as he pushed open the door.

"Erik!"

Seeing Erik burst in, Helen was somewhat surprised.

She didn't know much about the younger son of the Kent farm.

But after examining Clark's blood sample, she became deeply curious about Clark and Erik's identities.

Clark's blood was simply impossible for any human body to produce!

Not only was it impossible for a human, but it was also unlike any mammalian blood in nature.

This completely overturned the scientific truths she had always believed in as a doctor.

After knowing Erik was Clark's brother, she also doubted Erik's genes.

But now was not the time for that. Helen put away her thoughts and said to Erik, "I'm sorry, Mrs. Kent's condition has been deteriorating since the evening, and we couldn't find an effective way to stop the worsening. I'm truly sorry."

"All of you, leave!"

Erik glanced at his mother lying on the bed and coldly commanded.

His voice was filled with an undeniable chill.

"Erik…"

Helen was terrified by the bone-chilling cold exuded by Erik, and she involuntarily took a step back.

"I won't say it again."

As soon as he finished speaking, one of the lights in the room suddenly exploded.

Boom!

The loud noise and the shattering glass startled the nurses in the room, causing them to scream in fear.

Without needing Erik's threats, the doctors and nurses quickly fled the ward.

Even though Helen wanted to stay out of concern for Erik, she was still pushed out of the room.

After everyone left, Erik took out the Cosmic Staff and aimed it at Martha's body.

Having mastered the staff's usage rights far beyond Courtney's, his control over the staff was evident.

Effortlessly enlarging and shrinking the staff demonstrated his precise control.

He aimed the staff at his mother, attempting to absorb the radiation energy generated by the spaceship in her body.

A strong beam of light shot from the tip of the staff.

The light, too bright to look at directly, instantly illuminated the entire room and spread outwards from the room.

Meanwhile, Helen was anxiously pacing in the corridor.

Suddenly!

The corridor door was flung open, as if an invisible force had generated a powerful impact, rushing into the corridor.

Along with the impact was a sunlight-like blinding light pouring into the corridor.

The impact made it difficult for people in the corridor to stand, and the intense light forced everyone to close their eyes.

Screams and the clattering of hospital beds intertwined, causing chaos throughout the hospital.
