After Mr. Sarcasm's mental tendrils entered Eric's consciousness, he immediately sensed an unusual energy.
His sarcastic magic involved chanting spells backwards, turning ordinary words into reality-altering magic.
For example, the spell to unlock a door, when spoken as "lock open," would reverse reality to make the spell effective.
The reason for chanting these spells backwards was because using magic always came with a cost for mortals.
Sarcasm added a layer of disguise and misdirection, allowing spellcasting without being detected by the original owners of the magic.
Those original owners were from the abyss, the dark world, the indescribable darkness.
These were entities that even Mr. Sarcasm feared and dared not face.
But upon entering Eric's mental world, he immediately sensed a similar but even darker and more terrifying presence.
Eric's mental strength far surpassed that of ordinary people, his mental world vast and uncharted, filled with entities Mr. Sarcasm couldn't comprehend.
Weird and terrifying invisible beings formed a damp atmosphere that continuously devoured Mr. Sarcasm's probing mental tendrils.
In the pitch-black, boundless space, cold blue glowing mist hovered.
A chaotic, black Gotham City appeared, then was swallowed by endless darkness, and a giant bat-like monster with massive wings emerged from the darkness, only to vanish quickly. He faintly heard "Barbatos."
Unspeakable octopi, nightmare-like mermaid statues...
He even sensed, in the deeper realms, a faint hint of those magic creators.
Fearsome darkness, those magic creators, seemed to be stirring because of his probing.
Had those entities discovered him?!
Mr. Sarcasm, probing Eric's mental world, was immediately filled with fear.
Even though he was a renowned figure in the magic world, he had never seen such a bizarre and complex mental world.
He swore that the mind of Constantine, which he least wanted to explore, seemed as pure as an angel compared to this guy.
He previously thought the young man who shattered his elemental barrier was a monster, but now he changed his mind.
This guy was a hundred times scarier!
Mr. Sarcasm instantly abandoned the idea of controlling the opponent; now, he only wanted to escape from the mental world.
Though Mr. Sarcasm explored much of Eric's mind, only a moment had passed outside.
Seeing the opponent's wand pointing at him but stopping still, Eric didn't miss the opportunity. He broke free from the restraints and grabbed the opponent's throat.
Despite the electric, lightning-like defense around the opponent's body, which weakened his strength, Eric managed to grip his throat tightly, preventing him from speaking even if he couldn't snap his neck.
Mr. Sarcasm, sweating and mentally exhausted, finally withdrew from Eric's world after consuming a lot of mental energy.
Returning to the real world, he immediately felt a stabbing pain in his throat.
He wanted to chant a spell but couldn't make a sound because Eric was gripping his throat.
Meanwhile, Eric's eyes emitted red lasers, striking the opponent's face.
The protective barrier of lightning and light dimmed significantly.
In a crisis, Mr. Sarcasm used all his strength to maintain the forbidden magic, keeping it from losing control.
But Eric's heat vision kept increasing in power.
Bang!
Eric's right hand, freed, delivered a heavy punch to Mr. Sarcasm's chest.
The blue lightning and light around Mr. Sarcasm dimmed again.
Boom!
The barrier shattered, and Mr. Sarcasm was thrown back, his throat crushed.
The deadly heat vision aimed at his face was redirected to his arm at the last moment with magic.
With a spurt of blood, Mr. Sarcasm's left arm was cut off by the heat vision.
Enduring the searing pain, bleeding from his mouth, he struggled to cast a spell to heal his arm and throat wounds.
Now in a desperate state, struggling to speak, Mr. Sarcasm considered fleeing.
He had no connection with the mysterious Owl organization and didn't intend to work for them.
He only cooperated with them to exchange for a black magic book they held.
What he thought was a simple task turned into a confrontation with such a formidable opponent.
Possessing unimaginable strength and speed, and mentally powerful beyond imagination.
Mr. Sarcasm, enduring the pain from his severed arm and throat, summoned a portal with a magical tool.
Meanwhile, in a cold apartment building, a black-haired girl was practicing transformation magic with her father's magician attire.
Suddenly!
A portal opened in the room.
Mr. Sarcasm, covered in blood and clutching his severed arm, stumbled out of the portal.
The shocked girl immediately ran to support her father.
"Dad?!"
"Don't talk, Zatanna!"
Mr. Sarcasm, his back pierced by Eric's heat vision, could barely hold on, using his magic wand to close the portal.
Zatanna, shocked and disbelieving, saw through the portal a man in an owl mask.
With a flash of crimson in his eyes, exuding a chilling aura.
That owl mask... was the one who hurt her father?!
Zatanna gritted her teeth.
Damn it!
I'll make you pay!
In the Owl Council's maze, Eric watched as Mr. Sarcasm escaped through the portal, retracting his heat vision.
He took a deep breath to clear his dizzy head.
Walking through the rubble, he looked at Clark, who was kneeling and gasping for breath.
The strange magic lightning not only had a paralyzing effect but also continuously drained his strength, leaving Clark still weak.
"Clark, you always surprise me."
Eric stared into his eyes, "I remember you promised to return to the farm."
Clark took a breath and stood up, "Yes, I lied. Didn't Dad tell us that sometimes it's necessary to lie? And things turned out just as I feared; you got into some trouble."
"I thought my appearance was necessary, just like last time when you suddenly appeared behind Coach Watts, right?"
Clark sighed in the direction Mr. Sarcasm had disappeared, "I've never seen anything like that. Was that magic?"
"You'll see more in the future, but for now, you need to go home."
As Eric finished speaking, a commotion erupted in the Owl Council, followed by the sound of hurried footsteps.
