When you fight someone, you are not just trying to kill that person, but you are understanding part of their way of thinking, part of their personality, part of who they are as a person in general.
Onoki was sure that Toji wouldn't attack him even if he place his neck in front of him.
As he expected, Toji turned his back on Onoki and went to the chair next to the table in the living room to sit.
Normally, Onoki would have used this opportunity to separate Toji's head from the rest of his body fast and cleanly, but he didn't do that.
Why? Of course it wasn't because there were two children in the next room. He had killed parents in front of their children before and he had killed children in front of their parents as well. War was a very ugly thing. This was the only justification Onoki could offer.
The reason he didn't do that was out of curiosity, he for some reason wanted to know more about the man in front of him.
Onoki followed Toji to the table and sat on the chair opposite him.
"How did you survive my attack?" Onoki asked suspiciously.
"I used one of the Special Grade Cursed Tools to teleport me away, but it seemed like it wasn't fast enough to avoid your attack"
He said and placed his hand on the remaining part of his right arm.
It was understandable now.
"I failed in my mission because of you now, this is the first time this has happened," Toji said.
"Well, you are not the only one who failed in the mission assigned to you. I also failed to complete my mission as well. It turns out that the stupid duo had agreed to mutiny if the star plasma vessle did not agree to merge." Onoki responded annoyed.
"I imagine you didn't take that easily," Toji said with a provocative smile.
"I wiped the floor with Gojo Boy but it ended up messy anyway," Onoki replied.
Onoki looked around at the small house and gave Toji a provocative look.
"I didn't know you were a family man and already had children."
"Hahaha, can you believe it, I forgot I had a child until a few days ago. I've been away for at least a year or two and my wife seemed to have disappeared a few days ago. She was most likely eaten by a cursed spirits."
"You are an incompetent father and an even worse husband."
Suddenly the door to the room opened on the side, and two small figures peered out at Onoki and Toji, who were sitting at the table.
Upon seeing this, the two looked at the door, but it closed quickly.
"Maybe you should deal with your children, but as for me, it's time to go," Onoki said and got up to leave. However, he stopped when he heard Toji's question.
"You have a Split soul katana , don't you? "
"If you mean the katana that you dropped, then yes, I have it. It is the prize for my victory against you. If you want to get it back, you must win it" Onoki replied.
Although Onoki lost the katana at some point during the fight against Gojo , he is confident that he is able to recover it, he is still able to trace traces of its cursed energy.
"It won't take long to get it back from you." Toji said .
"I doubt it," Onoki said as he closed the door behind him and took off into the sky.
At supersonic speed, Onoki flew from Saitama City to Kyoto in less than twenty minutes.
Upon arriving at the Holy Land of Jujutsu, Onoki headed straight to school, with twelve hours already having passed, he expected that the mission had failed and Tenjen didn't fuse with Rikuo at all.
There were two possibilities, the first was that Tenjen had turned into a cursed spirit and was already wreaking havoc somewhere, but considering that he hadn't felt any particularly large cursed energy anywhere all the way to Kyoto he could assume that option didn't happen.
The second possibility is that Tenjen had a backup plan in case variables like Gojo and Suguru appeared and that the merger actually took place despite Gojo and Suguru getting in the way.
The last possibility is that the merger did not happen at all, although it was not a problem for Tenjen.
He landed in front of the main building of Kyoto Jujutsu High School where Yoshinobu Sensei's office was, even though it was already two in the morning, Onoki could still feel him inside his office.
With silent steps I walked down the hallway to Yoshinobu Sensei's office, walking without making a sound had become merely an involuntary habit at this point.
He knocked on the door lightly, enough for him to be heard from inside but not very high .
"Yoshinobu Sensei, I'm back."
It took a while for Yoshinobu Sensei to respond to me, but in the end he did.
"Enter"
I walked inside, the office was completely dark except for the silvery moonlight coming in from a window behind Yoshinobu Sensei's desk.
The moonlight was shining beautifully on Yoshinobu Sensei's face, his wrinkles and long beard were as usual but there was a scar stitched along his entire forehead.
Seeing me looking there, he extended his hand and touched it lightly and said.
"Oh this one, I caught it when I was fighting a special grade curse yesterday, don't worry it's no big deal."
Upon hearing that, I felt relieved.
I then gave him the mission report. Although I had kept him updated on how the mission was going over the past few days by phone, it was not comprehensive.
Upon hearing the events of the previous three days, the meeting of Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguro, the attack by Toji Fushiguro, the flight to Okinawa, the fight again against Toji Fushiguro, the fight against Gogo Satoru.
For some reason I avoided mentioning that Toji Fushiguro was alive and that I was at his house.
However, after hearing the mission report, Yoshinobu Sensei remained silent for a while before giving me some news.
Riko Amanai was still alive and the mission was canceled by Tenjin-sama, who apparently made some kind of deal with Geto Suguru in exchange for Riko Amanai's life.
In summary, Riko Amanai returned to her normal life and the mission was completed.
I was not sufficient to know the details of the deal between Tenjen-sama's and Sujuru , so he did not tell me that, but he hinted that it had something to do with Sojuru's cursed technique.
I was kicked out of the office after there was nothing to say. Instead of returning to my room, I headed towards the training room.
I was the only one in the room, which made sense since it was around two in the morning. I sat on the floor, on my knees, and reviewed the events of the past three days in my mind.
Even though he hadn't particularly struggled in fighting any of the opponents he had fought in the previous days, so there wasn't much need to strive to become stronger.
Even if he didn't train and his strength increased slowly and he only regained half of his strength in the ninja world, he would still be the strongest person on the planet, at least until he met Sukuna and fight him .
There was no specific incentive to push him to become stronger.
In the world of Naruto, he was born at the end of the Sengoku period and the beginning of the Great Villages era, and since it was his first life, he wanted to become stronger.
After that, there was a kinship between him and the first Tsuchikage as his grandfather, and the teacher and student relationship between him and his teacher Mo.
In the end, the relationship evolved into a love-hate relationship between him and the other villages, as he was born in the Hidden Rock Village, he naturally developed a love for his village, so it was natural for him to defend his village.
In this world, Onoki didn't have many relationships, there was only his mother, his teacher Yoshinobu, and Iori.
Onoki didn't have a mother or father in the ninja world, he lived with his grandfather until his death, and since he didn't remember much about his original world, the mother-son relationship he formed, even though it was new and somewhat tense , was precious to him.
His relationship with Iori and Yoshinobu was much less than his relationship with his mother, so there wasn't much to say about him except that they were good companions.
Suddenly, Onoki remembered something the first Tsuchikage asked of him on his deathbed. He asked him to rebuild the Kamizuru clan.
The Kamizuru clan was the clan he and the first Tsuchikage descended from , he was used to hearing stories about the clan's past.
The Kamizuru clan was a small clan from the Land of Earth, and it would be no exaggeration to say that he and his grandfather were the strongest individuals the clan had produced throughout its existence.
The clan's specialty was earth release and controlling insects, more specifically, bees.
Unfortunately, Onoki and his grandfather, along with some scattered individuals throughout the Earth, were the only ones left from the clan.
His grandfather's last words were to rebuild the clan.
Although he couldn't do it in the Naruto world, he would do it in this world. The name of the Kamizuru clan would echo in this world.
Thinking about it, Onoki's eyes lit up with a new light.
