Chapter 16 - Ralarielekh, God of All Who Sleep

"At last, I've expected your intervention. My liege has already warned me about you... wretched human," the grotesque amalgamation hissed, its countless heads and voices remarked in unison.

"Heh, look who's talking, you disgusting vile creature."

"You cannot comprehend the power that courses through me, human," it hissed, its voice a horrific blend of the many creatures it had absorbed. "I am the embodiment of your greatest fears, a lord of nightmares given form!"

The boogeyman swung one of its claws towards me. I narrowly dodged it, the claw scraping the ground, leaving deep marks.

"Fear? My greatest fear? I fear no being. Live or dead, divine or malevolent, humans or gods, none shall I fear!"

"Blasphemy!!"

It lunged again, faster this time, its multiple heads snapping and snarling. I barely had time to breathe, the force of its attack sending me skidding backward across the cold, stone floor.

"Magick Prohibitae(Forbidden Magic): Opus Sanguinis(Bloodworks)."

The dripping blood from my wrist hardened, crystallizing into a javelin. Stretching my arm back, I hurled it with all my might. The crimson javelin pierced one of the heads, striking it right in the eye.

The monster let out a deafening scream, a chorus of tormented voices blending into a single, agonizing wail. The head that had been struck thrashed violently, its eye oozing dark, viscous fluid.

"Insect!"

Clearly enraged, the Boogeyman swung one of its massive tail towards me. Unable to dodge, I quickly conjured another spell.

"Forbidden Magick(Forbidden Magic): Hecates Praesidium(Hecate's Protection)."

A thin, murky barrier formed around me, stopping the monster's tail from hitting me. As it clashed with the dome, the Boogeyman screeched in pain as chunks of its tail perished.

Hecate's Protection is no mere defensive spell. If it were just a common shield spell, it wouldn't be forbidden. Anything that touches its thin shade is disintegrated to its molecules.

Sensing another opportunity, I dispelled the barrier and started to chant a heavy curse.

"Maledictio(Curse): Consume 200 animal souls, Medusaei Oculi(Eyes of Medusa)!"

Some of its eyes locked onto mine, and instantly, the heads with those eyes began to petrify. Realizing this, the Boogeyman quickly decapitated the affected heads, halting the curse from spreading further.

Fuck,This bastard!

"Your tricks won't affect me! Wretched parasite!" the Boogeyman roared.

The Boogeyman was relentless, raising its massive arm to crush me under its palm. As it advanced, I welcomed it with another spell.

"Magick Prohibitae(Forbidden Magic): Mandibulae Nagae(Jaws of Naga)."

In the blink of an eye, flesh and bone grew from my arm, forming a living dragon's head. Its jaws snapped shut, clamping down on the Boogeyman's arm and piercing its flesh.

"RAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!" The boogeyman screeched in pain.

"I'm not done yet!"

The dragon head burst out flames, searing the Boogeyman's arm.

Desperately, the Boogeyman tried to reach me with its other arm, but I shielded myself with Hecate's Protection just in time.

With no other choice, the Boogeyman eventually severed its own limbs to escape my grasp. Slowly but surely, I gained the upper hand in the battle, chipping away at its body piece by piece until its size decreased with each limb I tore off.

"A mere human, unacceptable! ROARRRRGGGHHHHH!"

The Boogeyman growled in a fit of rage, its eyes fiercer than ever. That gaze, intended to kill me with all of its might.

Blindly, the beast charged toward me at astonishing speed. I stood my ground, arms wide open.

"Magick Prohibitae(Forbidden Magic): Tonitrua Olympi(Olympus' Thunder)."

Just as it was a few steps away from me, I clasped my hands together. The clap created a shockwave so tremendous that it blew the Boogeyman away.

The abomination was thrown back, slamming against the wall and ground. Chunks of its flesh were blown away by the shockwave, revealing bones and organs within as it lay limp on the floor.

Just as I was about to take a breath of relief,

"W-wait..." The Boogeyman wailed with a weak voice.

Tsk, this monster! It can still talk after all that?!

"You human...i reckon thy strength..."

"Yet..."

The boogeyman's battered body began to slowly levitate from the ground. It raised its heads, and all of them roared in unison, producing a deafening noise.

I instinctively clasped both hands over my ears, the deafening roar reverberating through the hall with such force that it shattered windows and splintered glass. The entire structure trembled violently, walls crumbling away and the whole hall burst apart, revealing the vast expanse of the night sky above. I shielded my face against the sudden burst of starlight, feeling the gentle illumination of millions stars cascading down around me.

"It's not enough to bring me down! I am the lord of nightmare, harbinger of horror! I serve my liege with utmost loyalty. If i have to sacrifice every single thread of my living being to destroy you then, shall be it!"

The boogeyman hauled as it slowly flew to the sky above, its body cracking and shifting, and the and the sound of cracking bones reverberating through the air as the monster humped back straightened. Standing on both feet, the abomination grows a pair of wings from its back.

Standing up straight, I can see its body clearly; most of its flesh is gone, revealing the thorax and its contents. I can see nine hearts and 12 lungs pulsating behind the exposed ribs, Its intestines dangling from the abdomen, almost touching the ground.

I watched as the horrific being reached its own rib. He grabbed it, and with a quick snap, he took a fragment of it. holding it in his hand, with its sharp edges, he wields it like a sword.

"Fear, once again, be my sword. In the name of my master, Hy the Noble of Outerwill, I, Ralarielekh, God of all who sleep, shall end you here!" His words echoed across the cosmos as he pointed his born-forged sword towards me.

Before I could even comprehend what happened, Ralarielekh sped towards me, breaking the sound barrier. I rolled aside, narrowly avoiding his sword that nearly struck my head.

"Graaargghhhhhh!!!"

As I rolled aside, the force of Ralarielekh's charge sent shockwaves rippling through the air, rattling the debris around us. His bone-forged sword gouged deep into the stone floor where I had just been, leaving cracks spider-webbing outward.

Gathering my wits, I leaped to my feet and faced the monstrous being. "Won't you go down, filthy creature!" I muttered, trying to buy a moment to assess my next move.

Ralarielekh retracted his sword, the sound of scraping bone echoing in the shattered hall. "Your tricks and spells won't save you forever, human. I will end you, as I have ended countless others before you."

Without warning, Ralarielekh lunged again, his movements swift and deadly. I ducked and sidestepped, narrowly avoiding the lethal swipe of his sword.

"Your defiance is futile," he growled, advancing menacingly. "No mortal can withstand my might!"

I edged backward, searching desperately for a plan. My mind raced, recalling spells and tactics.

"Goetia(Sorcery): Caelum Nullius Hominis(No Man's Sky)."

Ralarielekh was caught off guard as his wings failed him, slamming him forcefully onto the ground.

"What?! What have you done to me?!"

"Stay on the ground, you ugly thing! I'm tired of seeing you buzzing around like a mosquito."

"ARGGGGGHRGG!!! DIE!"

Clearly enraged, Ralarielekh jumped to his feet and attempted to grab me in his arms. I kept jumping and rolling around, evading his deadly grasp. This cat-and-mouse game between us continued for a while. I needed to exhaust him, betting my life on the line to carry out my plan.

Slowly, his breath became ragged, his movements slowed, and he grew more reckless and desperate. I, too, had reached my physical limit; I couldn't continue like this. It was now or never.

Between his attacks, I chanted another spell, waiting for the perfect moment.

"Audi, audi, suspirium Calypso. Amarus eius tam profundus quam mare, ira eius implens oceanum, ego te piscabor, monstrum maris profundorum. (Listen, listen, sigh of Calypso. Her disappointment as deep as the sea, her wrath fills the ocean. I will fish you out, monster of the deep sea)."

Avoiding his last attempt of assault, I immediately cast the spell.

"Magick Prohibitae(Forbidden Magic): Harpagona Batavorum(Dutchman's Harpoons)."

The sky splits apart, and chains with sharp steel pikes fastened to its edge shoot out of its deep fissures, piercing Ralarielekh's skin, entering his bones and organs, and impaling him to the ground.

As Ralarielekh writhed in agony, the chains tightened around him, securing him in place. His roars echoed through the shattered hall, mixing with the clinking of the chains and the sound of his own bones cracking under the pressure.

"You're finished, Ralarielekh!" I declared.

The chains tightened further, eliciting a guttural scream from Ralarielekh. Despite his struggles, he could not break free from the magical restraints that bound him. Sweat beaded on my forehead as I concentrated, maintaining the spell that held him captive.

"You will not get away with this! My master reigns supreme over all; you're nothing but an insect!"

"I don't care who your master is. Anyone who stands in my path, whether human or god, will perish!"

From the very beginning, I anticipated this outcome. All this time, I was merely waiting for the effects to take hold—the javelin made with my own blood should have seeped into his body, coursing through his veins.

"Return to your creator, vile creature!"

"Magick Prohibitae(Forbidden Magic): Flamma Sordidata(Tarnished Flame)!"

In an instant, Ralarielekh's body burst into a ball of flames, screeching in pain as his flesh was consumed by the ethereal fire. Despite his struggles, the pikes held him firmly in place.

I watched with grim satisfaction as the fire intensified, its blaze searing through his flesh and bones, cooking him alive.

Ralarielekh's struggles grew weaker as the flames consumed him, his once terrifying form now reduced to charred remnants. The air filled with the acrid scent of burning flesh and the final echoes of his tormented cries.

With a deep breath, I released the spell, the chains retracted to where it belongs.

Now, All that remained of Ralarielekh was a smoldering heap.
