"If there's anything I hate, it's you!"
"You know I care less piggy bank" Cole replied rather cooly looking straight into the face of the helpless boy he was oppressing.
"Stop it Coke, you should be polite enough not to call people by their obvious deserving names" Kurt reprimanded Cole to which Bill did not know whether to be happy with that statement or be angry at Kurt as well.
We had just closed from school and since it was a Friday, we walked slowly because there was no school the next day. Cole was on Bill's neck this afternoon because he scored a zero at the English test.
The test was over twenty and we all did well except Bill. We all didn't say much about it until Bill called Cole's mum granny, making the latter frown and then ask why he was so dumb at everything.
"How do you even misspell your own name piggy?" He asked the red- faced-sweaty-fat-boy who looked nothing like a pig but actually deserved to be called one.
During the test, Miss Betty changed the last question to write your own name for a mark but even that couldn't save Bill from scoring a single point in the test.
He was already feeling the shame because his face was redder than normal throughout the day after he got his test score and everyone wondered how he manage to spell his own name with one L instead of the two he usually does and should have.
Even Miss Betty was speechless when she gave him his test score. And now after school, he decided to lighten the mood by asking Cole if "granny was alright ". This surely made Cole go all out on him and he did not hold back.
"I bet, you're dumber than your house dog but you don't get told" he said.
"No, the only difference between his house dog and himself is that he's called Bill, his dog has no name" I said and Kurt couldn't control his laughter.
The oppressed gave me a look to kill and this made both Kurt and Cole burst into uncontrollable laughter.
The fact that he least expected me to join in and make fun of him surprised him and this made the others laugh at him the more.
"I hate you all!" Mr I'm- so- dumb- I-couldn't- spell- my- own- name shouted on top of his voice and we decided to let the whole matter go.
"Did you hear?", it was Kurt
We all stopped walking and turned.
"What?" I asked
"Shhh! Listen"
That was when we heard.
It was Fred calling out to us at the top of his voice. Fred was the Mayor's son and this made him act responsibly in any way possible. He was bright too and the only person I Kurt openly detested. We all thought it was because he beat him in the first test which earned him the position of class leader. He sometimes spoke more than he necessarily had to but everyone respected because of his use of big words which all have never heard before.
"This is for you" he said handing out a book to Bill. "That's your bill for not knowing how to spell Bill".
"Miss Betty said she wants it on Monday and no excuse". Bill had been given an extra homework for failure in class today.
"You boys walk so fast" Fred continued.
"I wanted to give him the work before he gets home and so I had to run so fast to catch up with you" " why hurry home?"
"Because there are stuff to do" Coke replied.
"Ok"
The rest of the journey home was spent in silence. No one talked about Bill's poor performance again, Kurt did not make any impressive statement on current happenings or what was taught in class, Cole just had his hands in his pockets the rest of the journey home and I also just walked on not thinking about anything in particular till we all got to our various homes and we parted ways.
