Chapter 40 - Man Behind The Slaughter

"All according to plan," Raze said, looking at all the bloodshed happening almost a whole kilometre away from him.

His lips displayed a smirk, and yet his eyes were as emotionless as ever.

As if he didn't feel even an ounce of guilt or regret for having doomed all the innocent people on the floor.

All of this had only been possible thanks to his innate rune.

Back when he was thinking of ways to easily kill the guards that would inevitably be accompanying Layla,.

The easiest way to accomplish this was through a pitfall trap, like he had used to kill the first group.

But since he was going to  use the trap once to kill the first group, his enemies would be wary of him.

Meaning it would be very hard to get them with the same trick again.

He was stuck in a dilemma, as he knew he didn't possess the strength to kill all of them on his own, so he needed to be creative with his approach.

Due to his inherent weakness, he started experimenting with his abilities and looking for hidden pieces on the floor.

It was during this experimentation that he discovered another property of his inventory.

He could instantly recall something from and to his inventory, as long as it belonged to him.

While it may be a bit harder to understand for some people,.

This single newly discovered property made his entire plan work.

As long as something belonged to him or was neutral, like a rock on the side of the road, he could put it in his inventory.

But if something belonged to another person, like a weapon they were holding or had some other mark of theirs on it, he couldn't store it in his inventory.

Meanwhile, anything that had been in his inventory even once belonged to him, at least from the perspective of his ability.

It was thanks to his understanding that he had the idea of putting the ground in his inventory.

That's right Raze had put the whole ground in his inventory in a single moment to trap the guard.

While his inventory had a limit on the weight and size of the items he could carry,.

Nothing was stopping him from breaking the ground into thousands of smaller chunks by chipping at it with his inventory.

While his inventory had a limit of 100 items, he could stack the same items up to 99 per slot, allowing him to easily carry them all inside his inventory.

And by the end of the process, he ended up with a massive chunk of the ground in his inventory.

After that, all he needed to do was fill the hole back up now that the piece of land technically 'belonged' to him.

And once the time was right, he just needed to put the piece of land he owned back inside his inventory, allowing him to instantly create a pitfall leading to the deaths of the guards.

While this had allowed him to kill more than a hundred skilled guards at once, this wasn't a feat he could easily replicate.

For one, it was an extremely time-consuming process to slowly chip away at the ground and store it in his inventory, like he had done.

It took him around 5 hours to do it, so it was almost impossible to do it in any normal fight.

And this was without even mentioning the disgusting mana and mental toll it took on him or him needing to make physical contact with it.

In the end, it was safe to say that Raze wasn't going to be pulling off a similar feat any time soon.

But still, this at least gave him an option for a trap to use in the future when fighting against someone above his level and gave him prep time.

In a way, it kind of reminded him of a certain super hero back on Earth who, despite being a regular human, used prep time to beat superhumans.

He was truly grateful to this floor, as it had helped him learn a lot of things about combat and his innate rune.

Which would undoubtedly help him tremendously in the future.

Well, none of it matters right now.

The only thing that mattered was his plan working and causing a full-blown war between the two main tribes of the forest.

In a matter of a few hours, one of the two tribes should be completely eliminated.

And then whatever is left of the winning tribe can be dealt with easily.

Or at least that's what any sane person with any shred of remorse or consciousness would do.

But too bad for the goblins, Raze possessed neither of those qualities.

At least not for vile, disgusting monsters.

Most of the men of the tribe are currently engaged in war.

All the women and children of the tribe were left mostly unprotected in their settlement.

Among them was the son of the chief, who had been his target from the start.

If he wanted, he could easily just go there and kill him to move on with this floor.

But too bad for everyone on this floor. Raze was a very thorough person.

Since he had already fucked everyone on this floor many times over,.

It was only right for him to finish what he started.

He could feel his heartbeat quickening slightly at the prospect of what sort of reward his achievement was about to get him.

But he knew for sure that whatever it was, it was going to be worth it.

After all, the tower didn't care about the morals of one's actions; it only cared about the results.

And that was something Raze was sure of producing.
