"Wait for the rain to stop." Elizabeth said to Athena.
"Come on, it's a light rain and the room is not so far." Ariana said after tightening the raincoat's zip.
" The weather forecast said that there is going to be heavy rain. "
"Exactly, that is why I have to hurry."
"Suit yourself. "
"That's my big sis El. I know you will understand."
"Be careful. "
"No heavy rain can cause a problem for me."
Ariana said and left the supermarket.
Soon after she left the rain became strong, she thought about going back but decided against it after realizing how annoying Elizabeth can be. She was really tired from doing part time work from morning to midnight and the heavy rain made it worse. She found it difficult to walk in the rain and hoped to reach her room as soon as possible.
"I shouldn't have agreed to Fidha's proposal to work in that clothing shop, my legs are hurting like hell after using the tailoring machine for the full day. At least they paid me a lot for a half- day job."
She was thinking many things like that and walking without much awareness about her surroundings. "And that creepy guy, why was he looking at me like that? But he was handsome, at least from the glimpse of his face I got. Did he think I am cute? Ha.. Ha there is no way a boy will find me cute."
It was then she heard a horn from her side, she looked to the right and saw a car sliding towards her. She stood there shocked and the only thing in her mind was death.
In the last last moment she felt a pull from her side and saw a figure passing and heard the sound of it colliding with the car. Before she could see what happened she hit the ground and started rolling.
"Aaa" She cried in pain but immediately remembered the situation she was in and got up. She saw a black car and in some distance from it a man lying on the road. She went near him and saw that the water around him had started to turn red. She ran towards the car to get help from the driver but a black bald man got out of the car before she could reach there and ran towards Aiden.
"Help me carry him." He said to her,
But before she could respond she heard a horn and looked to find an ambulance coming their way.
"An ambulance. " she said to the bald man and ran toward the ambulance.
"Help.. Help.. " She screamed and waved her hand and ambulance stopped near her.
"Please help him. " She said while pointing at Aiden.
The ambulance moved there and the ambulance driver, along with the bald man who came after moving this jeep to the side, carried Aiden to the ambulance.
The ambulance moved towards the nearest hospital with Aiden, Athena, a doctor and a nurse at the back. The bald man promised to follow them in his jeep, to which they allowed only after taking his phone number
(Aiden's POV)
Aiden found himself alone in a white room .
"Where is this place? Isn't it supposed to be a judgment hall or is it that I am not dead and this is a dream. Wait a minute, is this the afterlife?"
"No it's not." He heard a voice from behind and turned around in panic. He was dazed by what he saw.
There he saw a man in beach wear. He had white hair and beard combined with a pair of blue eyes. He had a toned body and a cocktail in his hand. He looked like a model ready for a beach shoot. The most important characteristic was a spe6 aura around him. It was so bright and charismatic that it took some time for Aiden's eyes to see the man clearly.
"Are you a God?" Aiden asked after regaining his composure.
"Yes I am."
"Are you the one who judges the dead?"
"No, that's not me and you are not dead."
"Then what is this place and why am I here? "
"Why don't we talk about those things over some tea? "
Then a cloud appeared near God and he sat on it. Aiden looked down as saw a cloud close to him. He slowly sat on it, being relieved for not falling through it. God drank the cocktail in his hand and dropped the glass to the floor. Aiden expected it to break but it passed through the floor. Being afraid he raised his legs from the floor.
"Don't be afraid, that doesn't happen to living things." God said.
Aiden looked up and saw that a cloud carrying 2 cups of tea had appeared before and the God had changed to a white suit.
"Getup makes the situation, don't you think." God said to which Aiden nodded.
Both of them finished their tea in silence then looked at each other. Then God's eyes widened like he remembered something.
"Oh, you are waiting for me to answer. I forgot about that. Problems of getting old. Ha, Ha."
" Do gods also get old?"
"Hu… hu.. '' God cleared his throat, then continued.
"You Aiden D' Angelo, you are a lucky guy. Do you know why?"
"No."
"Because I, Solarius, the God of light, have chosen you to be my daughter's husband. "
Then there was the sound of party poppers and some glitter paper fell on him. The room fell silent. This time it was Aiden who broke it.
"You, a god, want me, a human, to be your son in law."
"Yes."
"And you brought me here to marry your daughter."
"No no no no, I brought you here to make you worthy. Did you think I would allow a normal human to marry my daughter.l"
"Make sense. Can you tell why me?" Aiden asked.
" No. "
"What the hell. He wants me to marry his daughter just because he said and who is this Solaris? I never heard of a god with that name." Many thoughts came into his mind and when he looked at Solaris he saw him smiling at him in a special way.
"Oh no, he can hear my thoughts."
" Sure, I can."
"What the… " Aiden stopped himself from finishing. Solarius started laughing.
"Ha.. Ha… Ha.. Boy, I am liking you more."
Aiden had no idea how he was supposed to feel at the moment. "Can I atleast meet your daughter or at least see a photo? "
"No, where is the thrill in it?"
"Me marrying a goddess, how could this happen? What will happen if she doesn't like me? Won't she be able to burn me with a thought."
"Don't overthink it my boy. My daughter is a human and it is your job to make her like you"
Aiden bit his tongue, when he remembered that Solarius could hear his thoughts.
"Wait, she is a human. So she is a demigod, like in Greek mythology."
"No, she is just a regular human."
"How is that?" This time Aiden asked aloud.
"That you don't have to know."
Hearing this Aiden felt like things are more complex than he actually thought and he had no interest in being part of it.
"Do I have an option to refuse? " He asked, being a little afraid.
"Of Course you have."
Hearing this Aiden sighed in relief. It was then Solaris opened his mouth again.
" Poor boy, had a lot of potential but what can I say? It is sad that he has to die so early. His poor parents, now who will look after them. Who knows how long their son will be in coma only to pass away later. At Least I give him a chance."
Aiden looked at him grinding his teeth.
"He is better suited to be a thug than a God."
"I accept."
"What did you say boy?"
"I said It will be my honor to be this great Gods son in law."
