***The Upper sector of the Outskirts of 'Eclipse of the Ocean', Chingford's Academy..
Navi's entire body stings, his eyes feels strained and his muscles were completely numb but still, he felt relieve.
It is a very weird feeling as his body is finally a bit rested from stress from sleeping while at the same time a it has accumulated a build up of strain from his dreams.
Getting up from bed was torture an so was walking all the way down to the bathroom. The only good part about his morning today is the cold shower running over his body as he takes his bath.
His cold showers always felt good but this one felt somehow feels divine. Knowing he can only stay in the bathroom for as long as five minutes felt cruel as he washed the blood from the corners of his eyes and the sweat off his pale skin.
Soon, his time's up and he had to drag his numb body out of the bathroom and into a new pair of robes. As usual, his morning routine is followed by a lack-lustre cafeteria breakfast but today, he treats himself a little better as he buys a nutrition pack and a pack of healing remedy.
Totally uncaring about order, he sucks on the contents of both packs before dragging himself to the training grounds. He knows his own body limits so he is making no attempt to train this morning as he goes to a specific training ground amongst others where he just watches the people in training.
Weapon training. This is a course he is only allowed to take after two more months of study about different weapons and their pros and cons.
Today, he is watching the archery students practice their shootings and reflexes under the supervision of their archery masters. The people in training are all about twenty years old in average with some being a little older and some a little younger so they had enough bodily growths to shoot arrows and hold powerful bows.
Out of the majority in the Academy, Navi is the odd one out because of his age. Many believe he signed in too early and will not be able to learn much due to his body holding him back despite the high pay.
In some sense they are right but, they are also wrong. When Navi saw himself do,.. no the boy who looks younger than him do in the dreams with the Claymore sword has convinced him that sixe doesn't matter much, all that's needed in battle is skill and power.
Navi suddenly finds himself itching to hold a sword and although he wouldn't admit it, he finds himself also itching to spill blood that isn't his own.
He is more than a little affected by the dream-like memories he fully experienced last night and a little push from life would show how much he has been affected either for good or bad.
Still in thought, Navi failed to hear the angry footsteps stomping it's way from behind him. Another persons body's hits him by his side rudely while making him stumble off balance yet without caring, this person keeps stomping his way to the Archery practice.
Looking at the person's back and feeling his palm against the floor, Navi's calm expression perfectly hides snowballing fury.
He doesn't stop himself from feeling this fury but instead he controls himself not to get controlled by the fury as he watches on.
The angry man soon gathers a lot of attention as he soo stops in front of a woman who is holding a bow.
The woman looks at him with a bit of confusion and yet calmness while the man seems to be struggling in containing his anger.
Through extremely gritted teeth, the man says each word slowly and powerfully with venom in his foaming saliva, "I.. WANT.. A.. DEATH.. MATCH".
*Silence*.
The woman's eyes bulged a bit from shock as the entire archery practice grounds depends into extreme Silence and confusion.
A death match..
The Man wants a death match.
A death match isn't something that can be casually demanded nor is it something the Academy can approve as its connected to a law for cultivators and martial artists.
Cultivators commit a lot of crimes without remorse or guilt and this is an undeniable fact. Their crimes range from murder to fraud to backstabbing to breaking of oaths and laws yet as far as the Outskirts is concerned, cultivators don't get arrested and very rarely are they subjected to punishments because they are the ones determining the law and justice is based in your level of power.
The weak non-cultivators would of course scream unfair but what happens when a cultivators commits an offense in relation to another Cultivator.
Violence happens, lives gets lost and compensation is either given or forcefully taken. Entire households are wiped out and valuable powerhouses gets killed off. This is completely unacceptable to a small community like the Outskirts where they do not even have enough powerhouses to completely protect and feed the masses and so laws gets applied to avoid uncontrollable vengeance.
*If someone taints the honours of you family or someone close to you, it becomes your right to challenge this person to a duel. Winning is bringing back your family's honour and losing is putting it deeper into the mud. Though in this duel, no murder is allowed.
*If you are a victim of fraud and breakage of oaths, you can ask the other party for a compensation 1.5 times more than what you've lost. If the other party refuses you are allowed to forcefully take it and more.
*If someone kills, rapes someone you know or completely brings down your family name or breaks an irreversible oath then you are allowed a death duel!.
A duel to the death, a fight till the end and if truly guilty, the other party is not allowed a chance to refuse.
Navi has read about this rules but this is the first time he has ever seen someone issuing a duel and it turns out that not being just any duel but instead it's a death duel.
What did she do to him?!..
This question couldn't help but pop up in everyone's mind as they look at the fury in the man's gaze.
Navi has never been much interested in other people's problems but this time, its different because this time.. it's a death duel!.
A bit of excitement creeps up Navi's heart as he watches the duo with the anger of being pushed replaced with curiosity.
