Chapter 48 - Important Information

From Yasuke's perspective, and even in the eyes of many Naruto fans, the A-rank jutsu Rasengan is far more practical than the S-rank jutsu Chidori.

After all, throughout the original storyline, the protagonist Naruto relied heavily on Rasengan and its advanced forms!

However, when Yasuke used the Nara clan's secret technique in conjunction with Kakashi to eliminate those Kirigakure ninjas, he couldn't help but envy Kakashi's clean and swift use of Chidori to instantly kill several Kirigakure ninjas.

Especially being part of the Anbu, Yasuke felt that Chidori was more suitable for an Anbu's role, whereas Rasengan seemed to fall short compared to Chidori.

First of all, Rasengan is a single-target destructive jutsu. Even when used by the Fourth Hokage, he couldn't maintain Rasengan while continuously taking down several ninjas. For instance, when Yasuke took down the first Kirigakure jonin, he couldn't maintain Rasengan to kill the second one without forming it again.

In contrast, Kakashi's Chidori could instantly deal with the enemy in front and continue to be effective in a series of slashes, showcasing Chidori's advantage.

Secondly, Rasengan doesn't enhance the user as much as Chidori does.

For example, Kakashi, when using Chidori, the lightning chakra activates his body cells, dramatically increasing his speed. With such high speed, Kakashi could swiftly eliminate enemies like targets in a matter of seconds.

What about Yasuke? Without the speed of the Fourth Hokage, Yasuke had to ensure he had a good chance before using Rasengan. Otherwise, even a surprise Rasengan Toss could be defended against or dodged by enemy ninjas, which is one of Rasengan's weaknesses.

Lastly, there's the destructive capability.

In the original series, many who were hit by Rasengan didn't die immediately. Like the previous Kirigakure jonin, if Yasuke hadn't precisely controlled Rasengan's power and used it in a sneak attack, the jonin could have used his chakra to resist Rasengan's power, preventing Yasuke from successfully completing a shadow ambush and killing in one strike.

On the other hand, Chidori, with its high-speed thrust, can pierce the enemy's heart. Unless it's a special ninja like Kakuzu or Hidan, ordinary ninjas wouldn't survive.

Of course.

Talking about Rasengan's shortcomings is just because Yasuke envies Kakashi's Chidori.

Without a chakra nature test or Sharingan, the unsealing, non-elemental Rasengan is much stronger than Chidori in some ways. Moreover, with the assistance of the APP, Yasuke believed that even if Rasengan couldn't shine as brightly as in the original storyline in the Fourth Hokage's hands, it could still become a jutsu surpassing S-rank Chidori in his hands.

Then, seeing all the Kirigakure ninjas dead, Yasuke cautiously hid in the distance to avoid any potential ambushes by Kirigakure.

The more cautious Yasuke was, the higher Kakashi's evaluation of him became.

Compared to Guy Sensei's mistake, seeing Yasuke's performance in his first Anbu mission, Kakashi began to understand why the Fourth Hokage held Yasuke in such high regard.

Next, Kakashi instructed Dakota to use sensory jutsu to check the surroundings.

After confirming from Dakota that there were no more Kirigakure ninjas around, Kakashi, exhausted from the previous battle, finally breathed a sigh of relief and said to the hidden Yasuke:

"Yasuke, it's safe now!"

"That's good!"

Taking a deep breath, Yasuke slowly revealed himself and asked Kakashi with a bitter smile, "Captain, what happened just now? It was just a few Kirigakure ninjas; they shouldn't have caused you so much trouble, right?"

"Actually... it's my fault."

As soon as Yasuke finished speaking, Guy Sensei, who had been silent, stepped forward, apologetically bowing to Yasuke and Kakashi, saying, "Captain, Yasuke, I know I made a mistake, but... but..."

Seeing the determination in Guy Sensei's eyes, Yasuke and Kakashi couldn't interrupt him.

"But, even though I know it was my fault, I can't accept the unnecessary killing of refugees. After we return, I'll report this to the Fourth Hokage. Just as you said before, I might... I might not be suitable for the Anbu."

After saying that, Guy Sensei gave Yasuke and Kakashi a thumbs-up, indicating that even if he wouldn't be by their side as an Anbu, they would still be his comrades in his heart.

Knowing Guy Sensei's stubborn nature, Yasuke simply nodded in agreement.

Then, remembering something important, Yasuke quietly approached Kakashi and said, "Captain, I found a strange scroll in the ninja tool pouch of the Kirigakure chuunin who ambushed me."

"The Kirigakure ninjas could infiltrate the Land of Fire and know our movements so well; there might still be spies in our village. I think we should search the other Kirigakure ninjas' tool pouches to see if we can find any information. Since it's dangerous to search them, I'll do it."

"Good."

Kakashi nodded, then weakly closed his Sharingan, saying, "Yasuke, the methods taught by our teacher are indeed useful. Unfortunately, after the battle, I need some time to recover. While I rest, you'll lead our Anbu team back to the village temporarily."

"You'll have the authority to command me as well."

"Yasuke, you didn't disappoint me earlier, so don't disappoint our teacher either!"

"No problem!"

Taking over such a significant responsibility after the first mission showed that Yasuke had not only gained Kakashi's recognition but also that of the entire Anbu team. Without hesitation, Yasuke assumed the role of temporary captain and began searching the Kirigakure ninjas' tool pouches.

After some rest, when Kakashi regained some strength, Yasuke led the completed mission Anbu team back to Konoha. However, with the strange scrolls obtained from the Kirigakure ninjas in his pouch, Yasuke didn't realize how important those seemingly strange scrolls were!

Because within those scrolls were critical intelligence concerning the survival of several ninja villages!
