*Hyuga Neji?*
That's another remarkable guy!
Although in the original story, the Byakugan (Hyuga) clan is known as one of the prominent clans in Konoha, Yasuke concludes that apart from the "Heavenly Ninja" during the Warring States period, the Hyuga clan hardly deserves to be mentioned alongside the Uchiha clan. This distinction was mainly a product of the Second Hokage's efforts to suppress the Uchiha clan.
Look at the Uchiha clan: they had Madara Uchiha, Shisui of the Body Flicker, Itachi, and even after the clan was destroyed, there was Sasuke with his eternal Mangekyo Sharingan and Rinnegan, challenging anyone who opposed him.
In contrast, what did the Hyuga clan have? Besides Hizashi Hyuga, only his son Neji showed outstanding talent. In the original series, Neji was the first among the "Konoha 12" to become a jonin, and he was on the verge of breaking into the ranks of the top-tier ninja in the world.
Unfortunately, Neji's fate was tragic. As a member of the Hyuga clan's branch family, he lost his father at the age of four due to the main family's interests and was branded with the Caged Bird seal like a slave. Living in hatred and resentment, Neji's talent was significantly restricted. So, despite being labeled a genius early on, it was only after resolving his hatred that he truly began to soar.
However, during the Fourth Great Ninja War, fate still did not favor Neji, making him the only member of the "Konoha 12" to die, causing tears among countless fans and leaving a deep regret in Yasuke's heart.
Some say that knowing the original storyline allows one to foresee and better control their life. But to Yasuke, if he cannot change the things he wants to change, always following the historical trajectory filled with regret and sorrow, then what's the point of traveling through time?
So, as he followed Shikaku and Choza to Hizashi's residence, Yasuke was excited about meeting notable characters like Hizashi and Neji. At the same time, he made a silent decision to change the tragic fate of Hizashi and Neji. Even if he couldn't free them from the Hyuga main family's control, he at least wanted them to live happily and let their talents shine.
If Hizashi hadn't died and could personally train Neji, wouldn't Neji become even stronger than in the original story? Wouldn't he become a jonin earlier and maybe even break through that barrier to become a top-tier ninja?
As Yasuke silently thought about the possible changes in the future, he couldn't help but clench his fists and analyze, "Hizashi's death was due to the Raikage's ambition, right? In the original story, it was briefly mentioned that Konoha and the Cloud Village signed a peace treaty. The Cloud Village's envoy still had ambitions and attempted to kidnap Princess Hinata, leading to the Hyuga clan leader killing the Cloud Village envoy, which sparked the Cloud Village's demand for Hizashi's head, secretly eyeing the Byakugan."
"Speaking of Hiashi Hyuga, that guy was truly a coward. Unable to solve the problem himself, he handed over Hizashi under the elders' persuasion, causing Neji to lose his father."
"So, the key to Hizashi's death is linked to the conflict between Konoha and the Cloud Village during the Third Great Ninja War."
"I should first understand where the Third Great Ninja War stands now!"
After analyzing, Yasuke looked at Shikaku and curiously asked, "Uncle Shikaku, is the war still ongoing?"
"Oh? Yasuke, why are you asking about this?" Choza, curious, asked before Shikaku could respond.
But Shikaku, who had already decided to mentor Yasuke, stopped Choza from questioning further and first scolded Yasuke, "Yasuke, don't focus on such matters. You should put all your energy into training, understand?"
"Yes!" Seeing Yasuke nod, Shikaku paused before slowly explaining, "The Third Great Ninja War has lasted for a long time. Since the Battle of Kikyo Pass ended and the Sand Village surrendered, our main enemy has been the Rock Village. However, under the wise leadership of the Fourth Hokage, we won a great victory in the Battle of Kannabi Bridge. Recently, we have signed a peace treaty with the Rock Village, so the remaining enemy is only the Mist Village. Once the Third Hokage's plan succeeds, the war should end completely."
As Shikaku spoke, they arrived at Hizashi's residence. Shikaku quickly instructed, "Yasuke, remember to speak less. Only show yourself when I tell you to, understand?"
"Understood, Uncle Shikaku."
Following Shikaku and Choza into Hizashi's residence, Yasuke looked around and couldn't help but chuckle.
It wasn't that Yasuke had a low threshold for laughter, but the Hyuga clan's main and branch family system was too laughable.
It was Neji's full moon celebration, yet as Hizashi's brother, Hiashi and the main family members were not present. Only some branch family members came to the residence, exchanged a few words with Hizashi, and left hurriedly, seemingly afraid of being scolded by the main family for staying too long.
In contrast, representatives from the Nara and Akimichi clans, led by Shikaku and Choza, first congratulated Hizashi and gave gifts before sitting down at the family banquet.
As Yasuke sat in a corner, unable to see the star of the event, Neji, he could only silently observe Hizashi and analyze the current state of the Third Great Ninja War.
Shikaku hadn't said much about the war, but that didn't mean Yasuke didn't understand it. In fact, as a transmigrator, Yasuke probably understood the Third Great Ninja War better than Shikaku, given how much the original series elaborated on it.
In the original series, the Third Great Ninja War was depicted as a battle of lone heroes overcoming numerous antagonists!
The war started because Sasori of the Red Sand assassinated the Third Kazekage, causing chaos in the Sand Village. To cover their internal turmoil and compensate for losses from the Second Great Ninja War, the Sand Village waged war against Konoha.
Then, as Shikaku mentioned, the Battle of Kikyo Pass happened. The Sand Village was defeated and forced to sign a "peace treaty" with Konoha. In reality, it was a humiliating treaty that required the Sand Village to pay significant resources to Konoha annually and limit their ninja numbers, forcing them to adopt a "elite" strategy and preventing them from regaining their former glory.
However, after the Sand Village surrendered, Konoha faced unprecedented danger!
With the renowned Sannin leaving, Konoha's apparent strength declined, giving the Rock Village an opportunity.
A new war broke out until the famous Battle of Kannabi Bridge ended, the Fourth Hokage took office, and a peace treaty with the Rock Village was signed, marking the conclusion of the war.
Three months ago, Yasuke had just transmigrated at that time.
The Fourth Hokage had recently taken office, and the Battle of Kannabi Bridge had just ended, giving Kakashi the Sharingan.
While most in Konoha, including the smart Shikaku, believed the Third Great Ninja War was about to end, Yasuke silently scoffed, knowing the full-scale conflict was just beginning!
Soon, under the control of the behind-the-scenes boss Madara Uchiha, Kakashi's friend Rin would embark on a path of no return, becoming the Three-Tails' jinchuriki as part of Madara's plan to provoke tension between the Mist Village and Konoha, leading to another round of war.
Madara's plan was just the beginning. After the Mist Village weakened Konoha, the Raikage's ambitions would surface. So, with threats from both the Mist and Cloud Villages, the announcement of the Third Great Ninja War's end would be a joke. Yasuke didn't intend to laugh at Shikaku, but silently lamented the troubles Konoha would face.
"The Sand and Rock Villages have finally ceased hostilities, but now the Mist and Cloud Villages are starting."
"Sigh, Konoha really is plagued with disasters! If the Third Hokage had the foresight like me, knowing that next year 'Masked' Obito would return for revenge, triggering the Nine-Tails' attack and resulting in the Fourth Hokage's death, he might just want to find a piece of tofu to smash his head against."
As Yasuke silently lamented, he thought no one would notice his sighs at the banquet.
Unexpectedly, as Yasuke shook his head, Choza noticed his action and immediately joked:
"Yasuke, what's up? Did you also notice that the Uchiha clan members aren't friendly?"
"The Uchiha clan?!"
