During Di Tian's delayed reaction, the sharp claws of the Salamander quickly made sharp lacerations up the skin of his arm.
As he hadn't began External Refinement yet, his skin was presently the weakest link in his physical body and had no defence against this. Luckily, Di Tian was able to move his body away right before the claws reached his heart.
"Something is definitely up," he thought, ignoring the pain to perform a brief Introspective check.
Sure enough, his body functions were being affected by an unknown power. This time, it seemed to be an alteration of his physiological conditions rather than the effect of some magical power.
Di Tian was secretly irritated. He was especially wary of creatures like this that had unknown abilities.
"It's a Salamander, so I should be able to get something from that," Di Tian tried to recall his past knowledge on amphibians from high school biology classes.
