The first semester was all about studying and ensuring that the material was correct as I get was determined to gained all the credits I would need to pass with flying colors. Any time I find my studies become difficult I then ring my brother Liam who talks me through my study sessions. I started missing home as it had been half a year that I have been here. So I made some chop suey with chicken and mixed veggies. Then grilled some steaks and mixed a quick salad and had just finished the salad when both Julie and Ashley returned "I made dinner and I hope your hungry," I said as I quickly served our plates before sitting at the table with them both as they seemed shocked by the spread. "Did you cook this?," Julie asked as they both sat at the table, "Yeah, I'm missing home at least I can share a meal with you both and since I disappeared like the wind the last time I hope you accept my apology," I spoke as sat eating quietly "We accept your apology and it's new for us to have friends beside each other," Julie spoke as I nodded "Me too. I have siblings." I laughed as we all ate happily.
Me cooking dinner in the weekends became our norm and we ate at the cafeteria whenever we could in-between classes and some days we wouldn't see each other unless one was returning and the others were leaving. The classes were so intense this semester that I didn't venture out throughout the semester as I was too busy to even sleep that I would vid chat my family during meals or just before bed to ensure I was safe. Before I knew it Julie and Ashley became my closest friends at school that I became really comfortable with them that our living quarters were always clean and tidy. A few times there friends have came to stay and those days I met more people and broadened my horizon. I didn't completely snob their friends I just didn't join them for every outing or activity. Both roommates were okay with that as I found studying better on my own was a lot easier then with people around all the time.
By the end of the second semester I stayed at the dorms this time and just rested, ate and chilled. Occasionally speaking with my family when Julie and Ashley returned on the last week of holidays and wanted to go to a party that a friend had invited them too. They were both excited that I couldn't help be happy with them and so it was decided we were all going. Dressing up in dresses, we styled each other's hair, did each other's make up and had a few drinks at home first before we decided to meet up with Julie's friends.
Entering the party it was full of people that the entire house was swarmed with people. Finding us a seat on the back porch we made ourselves comfortable as we all fit comfortably, that I laughed and drank with Julie and Ashley. We were so loud that we had attracted more people to our circle and since I was content with just being there I never inserted myself in other people's conversation when I felt someone sit next to me that my arm was touching them.
Jerking away slightly I made room since more people were sitting amongst us that our group had tripled by now when a smooth voice enter my ears "Hello, I'm Sebastian Lucas," a smooth voice spoke on the side of me that made my head snap to my right as I locked eyes on the greenest eyes that were staring back at me intensely. "Serena Jade," I said as I took his out stretched hand and shook. "lovely to meet you in person," he said as I smiled and nodded "Yeah staring is rude," I said as I laughed before turning away from him.
"How you enjoying the party?," he asked as I just shrugged "It's okay meeting new people and spending time with my friends," I said just as Ashley came and sat beside me "Okay Seren?," she asked as I looked over at her "Yeah, " I smiled as I finished my drink when that feeling came back like I was being watched and I sat back taking in my surroundings when I locked with a pair of eyes staring at me.
Without noticing I had forgotten about my companions around me as I watched him lift the drink to his lips and suck in the bottle while his eyes were locked with me. Blinking I looked away and realised I was in his direct line of sight and that his body was facing me right where I was sitting. So switching places with Ashley I had repositioned myself so that I was facing the house as I pulled out a cigarette and sparked it up, when I become nervous I tend to smoke without people staring at me and since we are outside I would bother anyone "Wow you smoke Serena," Sebastian commented that I nodded "Not so ladylike," I said as I continued taking drags from it before looking over at him "Doesn't faze me," he answered with a lazy smile that I looked away and just continued watching my friends enjoying themselves now that they had met every single person that had joined our circle and we're spread around me.
Butting it out, I reached over for the bag around Ashley pulling her gently to me as I unzipped it to retrieve my small bag that I hid in there with my packet of cigarettes. Grabbing a cold bottle with my smokes I zipped it back up and watched as she floater back by Julie who motioned me over. Standing I headed towards them as I felt Julie pulled me down beside her "Seren having fun?," she asked as I smiled at her "Hell yes," I said as I popped my bottle before relaxing against Julie with Ashley beside us that I felt content and happy that I found some friends who care about me and I was just basking in their infectious laughter.
Opening my circle to meet new people, drink and talk with them and watch as both girls spoke to everyone around us and never went to far away from me knowing my anxiety of too many people but the atmosphere was good and the vibes were amazing. Drinking my bottle I had relaxed and leant back turning to look at Ashley only to be met with Grey eyes staring at me that I blinked a couple of times before I turned the other way and realized I had moved to the other side of the porch. Now seating me right next to the handsome stranger in front of me staring at me with a frown.
Realizing I was almost touching him, I moved on the other side of Julie effectively being on the other side from him as he that made him frown even more that I stopped staring at him like some kind of fan. Julie looked up at me and said "I think Ashley likes that guy that was talking to you," she spoke as I stared at her blankly "What, you introduced me to so many people I don't even know who your talking about," I said with a shrug when she laughed "The green eyed god over there," she pointed behind my shoulder as I turned following her finger "Oh Kay, good for her," I said with a shrug and then stared at Julie with a frown "Are you insinuating something Jay," I questioned her as her eyes got big "No Seren, just stating facts," she spoke as I nodded "I don't care, I'm just here to be with you both everyone else is a bonus," I said as I sparked up my joint staring at her face on.
"I just don't want any rivalry because she always takes first pick of guys and it's annoying even if they're with you. I didn't want that too happen to you," she spoke as I smiled "As long as you don't touch me, I'm good. Plus school is hard enough to juggle," I said as we clinked glasses before Ashley came to inform us she was leaving with Sebastian that Julie rolled her eyes and hugged Ashley goodbye.
Julie and I stayed for a few more he yes before the sun started too rise and we decided too leave. Since sobering up enough I called us a taxi from a street over and we're sent straight back to our dorm. Too see the stunned look on Julie's face as we exited the car she frowned "You can call a taxi," she asked as I laughed "Did you want to walk home?," I asked as went made it back to our rooms and slept.thebentire day away. By the time anyone was awake had been three days later and a day away from semester three.
Entering the kitchen I was met with a ghostly looking Julie who looked still sick. "Why are you not still sick?," Julie asked as I smiled "Well after Ash left, I stopped drinking and got us home safely," I answered as she nodded before ash stared at us silently "I like Sebastian," she announced as we just stared at her "Cool," I spoke as I made myself a coffee to go before I left to the library to meet up with my study group I joined to get more details in my studies that made me understand it better.
The details of the work is what is incorporated in the running of each department smoothly and ensuring all departments are reaching their weekly goals. Entering today's session was a little different since everyone who is usually here was here plus three others that I had never met but one stood out as he had his back to me when I entered.
As usual everyone greeted me as I entered as they did to everyone that arrived and that's how we learnt each other's names and then as I sat in my seat the person turned around and greeted the classes introducing himself as Adrian Logan the gentleman from the party with the Grey eyes. Staring at him, I realised the others were stunned as well to his presence as no one interrupted him or asked him anything everyone's was notingdown what his main points were.
The entire of the session had everyone writing as he spoke. Noting main points and explaining his methods and the reason behind them. The strategic plans through his proposal were amazing that I could see how it would work when putting it forward with a confident speech behind it and that you would get investor. The facing a crowd is what I have to overcome, I can talk with everything in me but when it comes to hundred of little eyes watching you, yeah that scares me.
Making business connections now is what will further my family in the future and build a business partnership that would definitely grow to the size of my head but I need to do research and then work on my own proposal. My friends that I have met and gained through my study groups that my classes have put me in this is the first time I have encounter Adrian properly and I didn't think I would. Yet here I am with him in the front of me teaching us our materials and what is expected in the upcoming exam that will determined if we have enough credits to graduate at the end of this semest
The weeks that filled my days were endless studies session, that we started using the slow cooker at home that it made meals a lot easier for us all. Having a freezer full of frozen foods has also made it easier if one pulls the good out the night before, another then places it in the slow cooker and turns it on that by the time the last one leaves they have eaten and have turned it down to warm for us that have yet to arrive home.
I living situation worked very well for the three of us that our first two years flew past fast and by the third year we were closer then family at this point.. We all loved and respected each other's situations and decisions on things. Our home life was great as we all did out part and even our chores were divided weekly that we then picked which week will have who do.tjat chore and our living situation became easier that we were all so on point with each other that we found time to socialize outside of the house and gained more friends that I happened to have class with or study sessions that made it more easier to be around.
