As Amelia delved further into their world's intricacies, her eyes sparkled with hidden knowledge. "And then there's the matter of treasures," she began, her voice taking on a mysterious tone. "But among them all, the most coveted is the Elysian Nexus."
Leon leaned in, intrigued. "The Elysian Nexus? What's so special about it?"
Amelia smiled knowingly. "It's more than just a treasure. They say it can elevate someone to a realm far beyond anything known—a realm of godhood, unimaginable to mortals. This realm is said to be multiple times higher than our highest known realm."
Leon's eyes widened and watched Amelia add
"But wait, there's more.."
Amelia continued. "Legends say it can also guide one to their true love, bringing soulmates together in a way nothing else can."
Leon felt a mix of wonder and curiosity. "To find true love with the help of a treasure... That's something."
Amelia agreed, her expression reverent. "Indeed, it's not just a relic; it's a symbol of destiny, guiding seekers towards their ultimate fate."
In the quiet room, surrounded by ancient whispers, Leon sensed the beginning of an extraordinary journey. With Amelia beside him, he felt ready to face whatever lay ahead, in pursuit of both power and love.
Leon leaned in, captivated by her story, but inwardly he found it extremely cringy... "Do you think it's real?"
Amelia shrugged. "Who knows? Many have searched for it, but none have found definitive proof. It's part of the allure, I suppose. The possibility that such wonders could exist keeps people striving for greater heights."
She smiled at Leon, a glint of mischief in her eyes. "Maybe one day, we'll go on an adventure to find it ourselves."
Leon grinned. "I'd like that."
The room fell into a comfortable silence, both of them lost in their thoughts. Finally, Amelia spoke again. "Leon, there's one more thing you should know. The path of cultivation is not just about gaining power. It's also about understanding yourself and the world around you. It's a journey of personal growth and enlightenment."
Leon looked at her, feeling a deep sense of gratitude. "Thank you, Amelia. For everything."
Amelia's words wrapped around Leon like a warm embrace, her hand finding his in the darkness of their shared bed. "We're in this together, Leon. No matter what happens, we'll face it side by side," she whispered, her voice a gentle reassurance in the quiet of the room
Leon's heart swelled with love for Amelia and he squeezed her hand affectionately. "Of course, Amelia. Always," he murmured, his own voice filled with love and determination.
But as their fingers intertwined, a sudden chill permeated the air, causing Leon to tense in confusion. He furrowed his brow, feeling the temperature drop drastically around them. His hand, once warm in Amelia's grasp, now grew cold and numb, frost forming on his skin.
"Amelia, what's happening?" Leon asked, his voice laced with concern as he felt the icy tendrils creeping up his arm.
Amelia's eyes widened in shock as she realized what was unfolding. "I-I don't know, Leon," she stammered, panic rising in her chest. "I can't control it!"
Leon's heart raced with fear as he watched the frost spread, the cold seeping into his bones. He tried to pull away, but his hand felt frozen in place, trapped by the chilling aura emanating from Amelia.
"Amelia, we need to do something," Leon urged, his voice trembling with urgency as he fought against the numbing cold. "We have to get help."
Amelia nodded frantically, tears welling up in her eyes as she struggled to regain control. "I'm so sorry, Leon," she whispered, her voice choked with emotion.
Leon's heart broke at the sight of his wife in distress, but he refused to let fear consume him. With a determined nod, he gently disentangled his hand from hers and reached for her trembling form, pulling her close in a reassuring embrace.
"We'll figure this out, Amelia," Leon said, his voice a steady anchor in the midst of the chilling storm that was beginning to develop in the room. "Together," he added.
And as they clung to each other in the darkness, Leon's sharp gaze scanned the room. Things were being destroyed, sharp icicles beginning to form and swirl in the increasing wind.
"Does your father know about this?" Leon asked, his teeth chattering as he endured against the cold.
"No, I don't think so," Amelia shook her head, tears streaming down her face. She was trying her best to control it, but the frost essence within her kept raging. She was terrified to see the pain Leon was going through for her sake.
"I will go call your father, Amelia. He'll most likely know what to do," Leon replied. Despite the situation, his eyes still carried a look of warmth and assurance that melted Amelia's heart and drove all her worries away. But then, the rising blizzard caused by her chaotic frost essence increased drastically, terrifying her.
"Please go, Leon. Go call him. I can't remain like this or the entire estate might be destroyed," she pleaded, her heart tightening at the thought of Leon dying the more he stayed there.
Leon, still shivering, began to move. His joints felt stiff because of the chilling cold, but he was able to move nevertheless. Some of the tiny icicles swirling in the small blizzard cut his skin and clothes multiple times as they were swept by the wind, causing blood to stream out. Watching this felt like torture to Amelia; she wanted to scream, but she feared that more essence would stream out, causing even more damage.
As Leon was slowly walking out of the room, she shouted, "Wait, Leon. I think my dad knows something. There must be a reason why he sent me to the Glacial Frost Lotus Sect despite my Shadow affinity. Maybe he knows that I've got an affinity to ice as well. But why would he hide this from me?!"
