She was lamenting to herself in hushed tone while looking at the tension filled scene happening only a few steps away from her. The Alpha wolves were growling angrily after watching one of their own cut down right in their presence.
Verona was rather thrown off by the brown wolf that stood protectively over the young pup, daring anyone to approach. He smelt awful, like the stench of a corpse. No wolf smelled like that, no matter how filthy they get. But it's eyes, were the only thing that stood out, filling her with both dread and anxiety. Because there was only one man she knew, who had such unique eye color; one grey and the other blurry white.
The savage man called Toma.
At least that's what she heard Gastel call him. He was terrifying as a man but in wolf form he was beyond what she could describe.
