Chapter 7 - Martial Arts Training

After thee training in Army for 3 months, Xin went back to visit his master that trained him in martial arts. It was a village in the countryside that was the place where he grew up with.

Inside of the Dojo, were a tatami floor and painted paper walls with drawings of mountains and foggy hills. Stood a dojo of the instructor in a martial arts uniform.

Xin entered the dojo and stepped on the wooden floor.

He was waiting there as Xin was in his taekwondo uniform. He entered the dojo and there, the instructor was wearing his karate uniform.

"So you've shown at last! I hope you are prepared for the worst for making me wait," the instructor said while he was sitting on the floor, cracking his knuckles in the process.

"Oh, hoho I like this," Xin said out loud.

"I will let you enjoy in the meantime. And ease the pain of making you wait," Xin said then bowed.

"Oh, so you were conversing nicely now. Come here, let's talk a bit," The instructor said.

"What is it?" Xin asked curiously.

Xin then sat in front of the instructor.

"Show me what you have learned in six martial arts," John said.

"I have memorized all moves in that six martial arts. What will you teach me?" Xin asked.

"Hmm, okay! What is the hardest for you to master?" he asked.

"It was the Kung Fu I guess? It was very broad. The second hardest was Karate. Jiu-Jitsu was brutal but it was the most helpful in a ground fight. The Mui Tai was the easiest for me but it was also cool you know! The taekwondo was my favorite but other martial arts were also cool," Xin scratched his head.

"All martial arts can counter each other. It's just the judgment of the martial artist. A wrong move will make you lead to being inflicted with pain,"

"Remember that martial arts were to protect and defend. But it was also being used to cause violence. It was a weapon that was used depending on the person," The instructor said.

"You can count on me, I will use it to protect the weak. Now, when will we fight?" Xin asked.

"You are getting excited? Well, let's start. I will stretch my feet first. You also have to stretch your body," the instructor said.

"Okay!" Xin replied.

Xin stretches his legs and feet. Splitting on the wooden floor. He hops and stretches his arms and waist.

Making a stretch sidewards, front, and back. He then rotates his upper body left and right. His opponent was also stretching.

"What will we do?" Xin asked.

"We fight what else?" said the instructor frankly.

"Okay, now it was pretty warming. I finished warming up. Let's go!" Xin said excitedly.

"Okay let's get into the mat. Bow to each other and fight!" The instructor said.

"Wait!" Xin shouted. "We need at least a referee," Xin added.

"We don't need it. It was not even a proper match. It was exercise! Let's go!" His master said.

"Sigh, there is no helping it. Haaa!" Xin shouted.

Xin approached his master with speed. His opponent also approached him. With speed, they clashed together with him.

The instructor launched a punch at him but Xin bends his waist backward and holds his father's hand with both hands. He clipped his feet to his shoulders.

"A Jiu-jitsu! Holding and grappling the enemy with joint locks?" he said.

Xin's momentum has yet to end. He holds his feet to his arms but he managed to backflip. Slamming his enemy to the mat.

Tak!

"You were pretty desperate in the first minute huh?" his opponent said.

"Well let me taste you with Mui Tai!" he said then rotated his body and knee-kicked Xin, he was thrown a bit and rolled on the mat.

"You want Mui Tai. Then let's contest it out!" Xin said.

Xin backflipped then he dashed. They met and used their own Mui Tai skills. Xin jumped and knee kicked with both his knees. The instructor was surprised but he kicked him in the chest.

Bang!

Xin moved his arms to defend but it was too strong. He was again thrown.

"Again!" Xin shouted.

His opponent attacks him with the right elbow hook and Xin did the same. He punched but his enemy parried it and then knee-kicked him again.

Xin then holds his thighs and ducks while his elbows strike upwards to his opponent's face.

Pak!

He hits his enemy in the face. The instructor then low kicks him in the legs and Xin didn't expect it.

Xin stumbled and the instructor then used the opportunity to attack. He rotated and initiated a roundhouse kick to him.

Pak!

Xin was hit. His enemy then double-kicked him in the face with high kicks and it was all a hit.

Pak! Pak!

Xin felt dizzy. His opponent then used an uppercut but Xin rotated. He evaded the strike as he rotated. He then launched a quick punch to his master's waist.

He then trips his feet and pushed him to the floor. Xin expected a victory but his opponent holds his shoulders with his feet and rotated. Slamming him to the floor. He then grappled him with a joint lock.

"Ouch! Ouch!" Xin then shouted.

"You want to surrender?" He asked.

Xin was infuriated and he kicked his opponent's feet.

"Ouch, that hurts! Okay I will let you go this time," said the instructor.

Xin then stepped back and rotated his shoulders.

"That was pretty good Jiu-Jitsu. I have to be wary of it,' Xin said in his mind.

Xin approached. His opponent rotated and used a roundhouse kick. Xin, on the contrary, ducked and slammed his feet to the floor.

It produced a banging sound and from the strength of his feet, when his master faced him, he punched him with all the force of his body. Vibrating it as he landed with full force.

Bang!

His opponent was shocked by it and he was punched in the abdomen.

"Using Tai Chi to me? That was pretty good but I will use Wing Chun," His opponent said.

He used a straight blast. Using it while punching as fast as a machine gun in his centerline.

Papapapapappapak!

He punched him in the chest, the abdomen, and the face. Some were defended but some were not. Xin could barely cope with his barrage of blows and was hit furiously.

'I can't keep up. Think of a way to counter him. Think!' Xin said in his mind.

'Let's use Tai Chi's counters,' Xin thought.

With the fast barrage. He parries it with his other hand but his other hand was striking.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

All three hits have landed on his waist. Making him hard to breathe. His father stepped back a bit then in Shaolin form.

"Witness the Shaolin Kung Fu!" He shouted.

"Snake form!" He added.

The instructor strikes like a snake. Piercing like a bullet. Xin evaded it but on his evasion, he was attacked.

"Tiger form!" He shouted.

He mauled him with his claw-like palm and strikes his chest. Striking with power with his arms and legs. He kicked him with a rotating motion and landed in his face.

Pughak!

Xin gasped air. Even Xin was at disadvantaged, he continued his barrage.

"Dragon form!" His master shouted.

His enemy strikes with light and quick attacks. It barraged Xin. Xin strikes with his hands but it was parried by the fast and light movements of his opponent.

"Crane form!" The instructor shouted.

He strikes with accuracy but at the same time, he evades the attacks.

"Monkey form!" He shouted.

He strikes with his hands ferociously. Xin was blocking them all but was pushed back.

Xin then switched to Taekwondo. He aggressively kicks him with force.

Pak! Pak!

A double-kick was initiated. It hits his master in the face.

"Let's stop!" he said.

'His mastery in Shaolin kung fu was above mine. Maybe I can master it all someday,' Xin said in his mind.

"Xin, you have potential and can master it all but what will you do if you master it all?" his opponent asked.

"Well, maybe find something that I can use it! Like tournaments! But it was also to teach it to the next generation I guess?" Xin said.

"Haha! I know you will say that!" he said then bowed.

"Good job! Your reflex is still as good as always." His master smiled with reassurance.

With it, Xin passed out, he woke up the next morning.
