Family Reunion
After declaring himself the strongest brother, Larry turned to his team and said, "Alright, let's get to training. We need to work on our skills for the Tournament of Power."
The team nodded and began to disperse, eager to start their training regimens.
A couple of days passed, and the team was making good progress. Suddenly, a commotion at the entrance caught their attention. Gary, the lazy brother, had arrived with his wife Olivia and daughter Melody.
Larry raised an eyebrow, "You're late."
Olivia apologized, "Sorry, brother-in-law. He was trying to skip work without telling me."
Gary shuddered under Olivia's glare, but Melody jumped to his defense, "Don't bully my daddy!"
Olivia sighed, "Larry, we can only stay for week we still got a lot of work to do in Atlantis ?"
Larry chuckled, "It's okay, sister-in-law. You're welcome to stay for a week. We've got a lot of work to do before the tournament."
Olivia nodded, "A week sounds perfect. We'll make the most of it."
As the family reunion continued, Kai couldn't help but notice the dynamic between the triplets and their spouses. It was clear that Olivia was the voice of reason in Gary's life, while Larry was the confident leader. And Barry, the quiet powerhouse, was still absent, but his presence was felt.
Larry smiled, "Gary, Olivia, Melody, this is Kai and Zach, our C-rank adventurers and bodyguards for our brothers, Barry, Scarlet, G, and Derek."
Gary's eyes lit up, "Ah, I remember them! Nice to meet you, Kai and Zach."
He looked around, "Where's our nephew Ace? I don't see him around."
Scarlet replied, "He's sparring with his cousin Milo."
Larry nodded, "Well, let's see how it's going."
They walked to the training ground, where Ace and Milo were intensely fighting. Milo wielded his twin swords, while Ace used his single sword. The clash of steel on steel echoed through the air.
Larry called out, "Enough!"
Ace and Milo stopped, panting, and turned to face them. Ace said, "Hi, Uncle Gary! You're here with Aunt Olivia and Cousin Melody!"
Gary smiled, "Hey, kiddo! Yeah, we're here for a visit."
Olivia and Melody waved, and Milo bowed, "Nice to meet you, Uncle Gary, Aunt Olivia, and Cousin Melody."
The group shared a warm moment, happy to be reunited. Larry grinned, "Let's take a break and catch up. We've got a lot to discuss before the Tournament of Power."
Kai asked, "Gary, how are you able to stay underwater without dying?"
Gary chuckled, pulling out a mask, "This is a legendary weapon named Aquabreath. It allows me to breathe underwater."
Kai's eyes widened, "Woah, that's amazing!"
Just then, High Lord Mayor Barry entered the house, "Hi, brother Gary, Olivia, Melody! How's everything going in Atlantis?"
Gary shrugged, "Good, nothing much changes. Still the same bullshit. But the Tournament of Power sounds interesting. How long until it starts?"
Barry replied, "I think they said in 2 months. Hopefully, we can win it. There are a lot of powerful teams."
Larry added, "We'll need to train hard to stand a chance."
Melody excitedly asked, "Can I watch the tournament, Daddy?"
Gary smiled, "Of course, sweetie. We'll make sure to get you a good seat."
Larry nodded, "We'll need to work together if we want to win. Let's start strategizing and training soon."
The group began discussing their plan of action, determined to emerge victorious in the Tournament of Power.
Kai approached the triplet brothers, Larry, Barry, and Gary, with a curious expression. "Hey, I've been wanting to ask you guys something. Can I see you spar against each other?"
Barry, the High Lord Mayor of Eldian and the youngest of the triplets, smiled. "I don't mind. I haven't swung a sword in a while, so this could be fun."
Larry, the oldest, grinned mischievously. "That sounds like a blast! I'm in."
Gary, the middle child and King of Atlantis, hesitated. "Nah, I'm good."
His wife, Olivia, playfully rolled her eyes. "Come on, Gary. You've been lazy lately. Go spar with your brothers."
Gary sighed, relenting. "Fine, I'll do it."
The brothers made their way to the field, surrounded by onlookers eager to witness the spar. Larry spoke up, "Who goes first?"
Barry suggested, "I'll spar with Gary first, and then Larry can go last, so everyone gets a turn."
The brothers picked up wooden swords, with Gary choosing two. Kai's eyes widened in surprise. "Oh, he must be a twin swordsmen!"
The crowd murmured in excitement, anticipating the unique fighting style. With a nod, the spar began.
Milo, Gary's son, leaned in to whisper to Kai, "My father specializes in technique, specifically Shinsei style."
Kai nodded, "I know, Larry told me and my brother Zach about his skill set."
As they turned to watch the spar, Barry held his sword in a regular stance, while Gary yawned, saying, "Ok, let's get started."
Gary rushed towards Barry, who waited for him to make the first attack. Barry used a Shinsei style regular block, but Gary quickly retreated and used a Shinsei style perfect thrust, demolishing Barry's defense and striking his head. However, Barry had taken the hit on purpose, knowing he couldn't catch Gary. With one hand on Gary's shirt, Barry used his other hand to bring his sword down in a Shinsei style down slash, creating a crater in the floor.
Kai thought Barry had won, but Gary had dodged by tearing his shirt, escaping the attack. The crowd gasped in amazement.
Gary countered with a Shinsei style swift strike, aiming for Barry's chest. Barry blocked it with a Shinsei style cross block, but Gary quickly followed up with a Shinsei style spinning slash. Barry leapt back, avoiding the attack by a hair's breadth.
The exchange continued, with both brothers showcasing their mastery of Shinsei style. Gary used a Shinsei style feint, pretending to attack Barry's left side, but then quickly switching to a strike on his right. Barry, anticipating the feint, used a Shinsei style counter, striking Gary's sword aside.
The fight intensified, with neither brother giving an inch. Kai watched in awe, realizing that Larry had underestimated Gary's skills. The crowd cheered, sensing the excitement building.
In a sudden move, Gary used a Shinsei style dash, closing the distance between him and Barry. Barry, caught off guard, stumbled back, but quickly regained his footing. Gary seized the opportunity, unleashing a flurry of Shinsei style strikes, each one aimed at a different part of Barry's body.
Barry blocked and parried, but Gary's speed and technique pushed him to his limits. Just when it seemed Gary would emerge victorious, Barry landed a lucky hit, striking Gary's sword from his hand. The crowd erupted in cheers, thinking the fight was over.
The crowd thought the fight was over, but they forgot that Gary had two wooden swords. Gary deliberately let Barry knock his other sword aside, creating an opening. As Barry celebrated his apparent victory, Gary seized the moment. With a swift motion, he used Shinsei style perfect thrust, striking Barry's stomach and sending him flying backward.
The crowd gasped in shock, amazed by the sudden turn of events. Barry struggled to get back to his feet, but the hit had left him winded.
Larry, grinning mischievously, stepped forward. "My turn now, little bro."
Gary sighed, "I don't want to fight anymore."
Larry teased, "No giving up, Gary! You have to keep going!"
The chapter ended with Gary reluctantly preparing for another round, while Larry cracked his knuckles in anticipation, and the crowd eagerly awaited the next spar.
