"The Pain of Defeat"
When Larry left with Lady Zephyr, Kai was still groaning in pain on the ground. His brother Zach helped him up, concern etched on his face.
"Hey, you good, Kai?" Zach asked, as Kai winced in pain.
Kai nodded, feeling dejected. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little... humiliated."
Ace chuckled. "Don't worry, Kai. My uncle doesn't know how to go easy on us. He's always been a fierce fighter."
Kai's eyes widened with curiosity. "How was he before he became a mercenary, Ace?"
Ace's expression turned serious. "He was a talented fighter, but a troubled maker at the same time. My grandfather used to be the High Lord Mayor, before my father, Barry Green. My grandfather was supposed to pass it down to Larry, but he didn't want it."
Kai's eyes widened in surprise. "Really?"
Ace nodded. "Yes. And after some years, Larry went on a rampage, killing a lot in his mercenary days. That's when he was called the Green Demon. But he's changed now."
Zach's eyes were wide with shock. "Wow, I had no idea. Do you know the reason he went on a killing spree, Ace?"
Ace shook his head. "No, I don't. And to be honest, I want to know too. He's never talked about it, and I've always been curious."
Kai's mind was reeling with questions. He couldn't believe that Larry, the person he had come to admire, had such a dark past. And now, he was even more curious about what had driven Larry to become the Green Demon.
