Chapter 49 - Audience with the High Lord Mayor

Audience with the High Lord Mayor

Kai and Zach walked into the grand building, their footsteps echoing off the marble floors. They approached the receptionist's desk, where a stern-looking woman gazed up at them.

"What are you here for?" she asked curtly.

Kai smiled. "We're here to see High Lord Mayor Barry Green. His bodyguard, G, saved my life against the blue troll, and I want to thank him in person."

The receptionist raised an eyebrow. "Ah, yes. That was quite a ordeal. Okay, please wait a moment in the waiting room."

She gestured to a plush seating area, where they sat down and waited. After a few minutes, the receptionist called out to them.

"Okay, you can go in now. But make it quick, he's a busy man."

Kai and Zach stood up and followed her to the High Lord Mayor's office. Inside, they found a tall, imposing figure with a strong jawline and piercing brown eyes. High Lord Mayor Barry Green was a muscular black man with short green hair, and his presence commanded respect.

"Ah, Kai and Zach. Thank you for coming. I'm glad to see you're safe and sound, Kai," High Lord Mayor Green said, his deep voice firm but kind.

Kai bowed his head. "Thank you, High Lord Mayor. I wanted to express my gratitude to G for saving my life. I owe him a debt of gratitude."

High Lord Mayor Green nodded. "Yes, G is a capable and loyal guard. I'm glad he was able to protect you, Kai. But tell me, what happened out there? The blue troll was quite a surprise, I hear."

Kai recounted his tale, leaving out no details. Zach listened intently, his eyes wide with concern. High Lord Mayor Green listened intently, his expression growing more and more serious.

When Kai finished, the High Lord Mayor nodded thoughtfully. "I see. Well, I'm glad you're safe, Kai. But this is a grave concern. We can't have trolls attacking our citizens like this. I'll need to speak with the other High Lords and see what we can do to increase security measures."

Kai nodded in agreement, relieved that the High Lord Mayor was taking his concerns seriously.

"Thank you, High Lord Mayor," Kai said. "I appreciate your help in this matter."

High Lord Mayor Green nodded. "No need to thank me, Kai. Just be careful out there. And if you see any more trolls, don't hesitate to report it to the authorities immediately."

With that, their meeting was over, and they left the High Lord Mayor's office, feeling a sense of relief and gratitude. Kai knew that he owed G a debt of gratitude, and he hoped to repay it someday. Zach clapped him on the back, his eyes shining with brotherhood .

"Hey, man, I'm just glad you're safe," Zach said. "We make a pretty good team, don't we?"

Kai smiled, feeling a sense of camaraderie with his brother . "Yeah, we do. Let's just hope we don't run into any more trolls anytime soon."

Zach chuckled. "Amen to that."
