Chapter 5: "The Path of Adventure"
After a refreshing night's sleep, Kai and Zac descended to the inn's common room, eager to share their plan with Sophia. Over a hearty breakfast, they explained their intention to head to Eldrid, but their faces fell as they realized they had no money to fund their journey.
Sophia listened attentively, her eyes sparkling with understanding. "I see. Well, there's a way to earn your keep around here. You can become adventurers!"
Kai and Zac exchanged skeptical glances, but Sophia continued, "You see, in this world, there are two types of powerful beings: Aura Users and Magic Users. Aura Users possess a natural energy within them, which they can harness for combat and other abilities. But to access that energy, they must first create an Aura Circle through meditation."
Zac's eyes widened with curiosity. "Aura Circle? How does that work?"
Sophia explained, "To create an Aura Circle, one must meditate and focus their energy. The first circle is easy to make, but subsequent circles become increasingly difficult to create. The more circles you have, the stronger your aura becomes."
Kai's eyes sparkled with interest. "So, Aura Users must constantly meditate to maintain and strengthen their aura?"
Sophia nodded. "Exactly! It's a challenging process, but the rewards are worth it. And as adventurers, you'll have the opportunity to learn and grow your abilities."
Sophia continued, "Besides becoming an Aura User or Magic User, there's another way to gain power: making a contract with a Dijin."
Zac's eyes widened with curiosity. "Dijin? What's that?"
Sophia explained, "Dijin are powerful beings imbued with the power of the God Elementia, the forces of nature. Anyone can contract with a Dijin, except Magic Users. But be warned, you can only have three contracts. More than that, and there may be consequences."
Kai's eyes sparkled with interest. "What kind of Dijin can we contract with?"
Sophia smiled. "There are nine types: Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, Lightning, Ice, Chaos, Life, Light, and Dark. Each has its own unique abilities and strengths."
Sophia then revealed her own contract Dijin, a low-level fire one. "This is a low-ranking Dijin, but it's still powerful. Dijin range from Low Rank to King Level, with King Level being the strongest."
Zac's eyes widened in awe. "That's amazing! Can we see more?"
Sophia chuckled. "Not now, but soon enough. First, you need to learn how to contract with a Dijin. It's not an easy process, but I'll guide you through it."
And with that, the brothers began their journey to become powerful adventurers, with the possibility of contracting with a Dijin and unlocking new abilities and strengths.
