[ Third Person POV ]
New World
It had been approximately 7 months after the battle between the alliance of Big Mom, Kaidou, and the Golden Lion and the duo of Whitebeard and Roger.
Roger had gone on to sail deeper into the New World in search of the last island, and he had been closely followed by Garp and his men. They had encountered many clashes with him before hand, but they had always found a way to escape before it was too late.
Big Mom had decided to become reclusive and rebuild her kingdom after the devastation of the battle with Roger and Whitebeard. She would occasionally send her children to check on parts of her territory. However, other than that, there was little to no movement from her that differed from the norm.
Kaidou, after recovering from his battle with the Storm Dragon Boris, immediately set sail back to Wano. He stayed in his cave drinking and training, in anticipation of his next fight with Boris, should the day come he had to have a rematch.
The Golden Lion disappeared into the heavens after a close encounter with the Marines. He had encountered Admiral Sengoku at sea, and almost lost because of the overwhelming presence of the Marines that were with Admiral Sengoku at the time.
Whitebeard resumed his idle sailing with his crew. He had already delegated some of his 'Children' to help out with various territories that were liable for invasion. However, he was not directly in charge of those affairs. He decided to give his Vice-Captain, Commander of the 0 Division, that responsibility since Boris had been placed in charge of patrolling the entire island.
This posed quite a bit of a threat to ambitious pirates who desired to claim some land within Whitebeard's territory for themselves. There was no doubt that there were bold individual pirate groups who raided regardless of knowing that Boris was patrolling the territory. However, these kinds of pirates were met with swift and deadly retaliation.
Most of the pirates who died at the hands of the 0 Division were dealing with Boris' subordinates. Pirates like Stussy and Ken gained even bigger notoriety for their ways of handling pirates. With Stussy being dubbed 'The Vampire Queen' while Ken was called 'The Lightning Tribulation'.
Even normal crewmembers within the Division were a force to be reckoned with.
However, all of this did nothing but leave Boris with nothing to do as a result. If Boris' subordinates could do nearly all of the work that was primarily his to do, then what was there for Boris to do?
Boris often spent his days relaxing in bed and napping as a result. It became harder and harder to reach Boris because of his tendencies to ignore his transponder snail.
As a result, Boris' lack of interest towards the happenings of the world led to many believing that he had secluded himself for sometime. However, the efforts of his Division led many into uncertainty.
Boris' bounty had risen from 2.2 Billion Berries to 3.54 Billion Berries, Stussy's rose from 500,000,000 Berries to 1.05 Billion Berries, Ken got his 500,000,000 Berries.
Whitebeard's bounty had risen to 5 Billion berries after. It didn't look like it would rise any time soon from that.
Meanwhile, within Paradise, Tom's project on Boris' new ship was underway. Things were looking quite good for the ship. The Blessed Copper had been used as wiring to create an electrical system for the ship. Whereas the Devil's wood was used as planks for the exterior of the ship.
The amount of wood that Boris had brought back from Skypiea wouldn't be sufficient enough for them to build the entire ship out of it. However, there had been some very valuable lumber that had been dropped off by some traders earlier who claimed to have directly come from the World Government.
Its value was almost equivocal to the Devil's wood that had been brought by Boris.
What made it valuable like that was the fact that it was difficult to destroy it. Its durability paled in comparison to Devil's wood, but it was still pretty high compared to what the other trees had to offer.
As a result, the Devil's wood was made as an exterior for the new ship. While the rest of the lumber bought was used for the interior of the ship. They would also highlight different areas of the ship with an alloy mix of heavenly gold and silver to create a platinum like color for the ship.
It would be during the night that Tom would add specific modifications to the ship that would make the ship a little bit more like the original Pluton.
He would add various tools and configure already installed items within the ship. He had been carefully following the blueprints for Pluton's replica, insuring that it would look like a particular shape.
It was working for the most part, but one thing that Tom had failed to replicate was the fire power that the replica's blueprints demanded. The blueprints demanded a certain type of cannon for the ship.
This was going to be a problem because the cannon that the blueprint demanded were notorious for being only on executive Marine ships. Even normal ones didn't get the opportunity to have them on board unless it was for special occasions.
A good example would be during a Buster Call.
It was a well known secret that the manufacturer of those cannons were strong-armed into signing an exclusive contract with the World Government long before. They were under heavy guard from the World Government, and it took special permission from the World Government to access the island.
In other words, getting those cannons was going to be next to impossible to do so through normal means.
Tom pondered whether he should call Boris and ask him to retrieve the cannons from the island, but looking at the constructing ship. He decided that this much was going to be more than enough for them. Worst case scenario, he would probably leave a note with him informing him about the cannons and where to get them.
If Boris really cared about getting those cannons, he would get the cannons himself without Tom's advice.
It was going to take another four or five months before the ship was completed. However, Tom couldn't help but feel happy about the impact that the ship was going to bring to the world in the future.
Meanwhile, still in Paradise, within the Sabaody Archipelago. King Brayern was rediscussing the terms of the contract with Don Quixote Doflamingo in person.
"I want to increase the frequency of the transactions between our two organizations. I'm halfway through with business within North Blue, I don't see myself finishing up till later on the years," Don Quixote Doflamingo requested.
"I have no qualms with that agreement so long as you continue to hold up your end of the bargain. However, I doubt that it will be able to last, I am getting old; and it won't be too long until my son takes over after me. It will between you and him later on in the future," King Brayern replied.
"There's no problem with that, we can cross that bridge when we get to it," Doflamingo replied with a smile.
With a shake of their hands, the contract had been renegotiated. Doflamingo was still selling off weapons within the Blues, and making more arrangements with the criminal underworlds for each of the blues.
Information is power, and Doflamingo knew this more than anyone. He would often collect dirt on the people he had dealings with to ensure that he had a backup plan incase dealings went south with the people he was in business with.
He also had dirt on King Brayern, but he knew more than anyone that King Brayern wouldn't hesitate to make sure that the information would be useless. Leaving his relationship with the King a baseless one that would rely on pure trust.
