Chapter 149 - Finding The Lost City of Gold

"F-fuck you!"

I quietly sighed as I let go of his throat, and sat down.

"This dials....they have faint traces of spiritual force within them. Making it damn near impossible to track you guys with Observation haki, did you know?" I calmly asked. The leader looked at me threateningly, but didn't say anything.

"Granted. It's damn near impossible to notice this because the dials were set up in a manner to only work when they detect any form of haki being used....quite fascinating if you really think about it," I remarked while looking at the dial with mild fascination.

"Th-those artifacts were bestowed unto us by our glorious ancestors. I-I won't let you get away with them!" The leader growled at me, he had been spitting blood for quite a bit after he spoke.

I frowned upon hearing the words 'ancestor'. It brought forth more and more questions about the void century that had much left to be answered.

"You're meaning to tell me that your ancestors had somehow managed to master haki, and made devices for it?" I asked him critically. This was a major plot hole that I didn't even know about from One Piece.

"What of the others?" I asked him, "Do others have something like this?"

"E-even if I did, why would I tell you?" The leader spat as he slowly tried to re-steady his breathing.

I quietly got up and walked away towards the direction that the Roger Pirates, Stussy and Pato had gone. There wasn't much more that I was going to get from the leader of the Shandarians, but there was going to be a potential to learn more about this things far into the future.

Soon, I found the Roger Pirates and my little crew resting up ahead. They all looked at me as I slowly appeared from the thickets of the forest.

"So, did you find anything from them?" Roger asked curiously.

"Nothing much that would be alarming," I replied, "they all hate us just as much as they hate the Skypieans."

Roger sighed quietly before looking up to the mountain.

"Are you sure that your going to be able to find the town from the top of the mountain?" Roger asked, "We've done this before, and it was a bust, you know?"

"Don't worry," I reassured Roger, "I got this, but what we should be worried about is what kind of attention we are going to pull after."

Rayleigh smiled as he drew his sword before he declared.

"We're Pirates! We'll manage,"

The other pirates roared in unison with him as they all drew their weapons out. I immediately turned to Stussy and Pato and nodded to them reassuringly before I immediately summoned my wings and took to the skies before landing on top of the mountain.

It was there that I had managed to take in the clear image of the entire island of Skypiea. It was beautiful to be quite honest. However, I wasn't here to enjoy the view.

I immediately spread my Observation haki to its limits. I slowly sensed the lifeforms and objects that were spread out throughout the entire island. Everything seemed to just be nothing more than minor villages and vast amounts of forests that were occupying Skypiea.

"I can see why Rayleigh and Roger weren't able to find the ruins," I commented, "Literally everything is identical in nature by Observation haki."

I promptly expanded all my senses to their limits to boot with my Observation haki. It was then that I was able to get a whif of rocks and dust.

"Bingo"

However, before I could descend down the mountain to tell the others of my findings. I felt multiple intents making their way over to my location.

"How the hell...?"

It was almost as if I had triggered an alarm for them the moment I had expanding my Observation haki out that far, but it gets stranger because I had done this numerous times before; yet they never did anything like this.

I immediately descended down to the ground and notified the Roger Pirates of the impending danger. Roger, Rayleigh and even the noisy Oden were quite alarmed to hear the news.

"Is it possible that they're able to use Observation haki?" Roger asked curiously.

"Pretty much the assumption, so get ready for a fight," I responded quietly as I drew out my axe.

Soon enough, there were numerous Skypieans high in the sky looking down on us as they all had their weapons drawn out.

"Filthy earthlanders, prepare for your demise for tresspassing on our Island!" One of them spoke furiously.

Roger and his crew grinned as they all drew their weapons, while Stussy and Pato looked on anxiously.

"You two, go hide somewhere if you're not going to fight," I said while continuing to stare at the Skypieans.

However, they wouldn't have the time to do so because the flying troop immediately attacked us with a soaring momentum.

Roger and Rayleigh immediately used their Conqurer's haki to take out the majority of the group that was attacking. Immediately after; the duo, accompanied with the crew, attacked the Skypieans starting a bloody conflict.

Hell, even some Skypieans went out of their own way to attack me. I wasted no time cutting them down as a result. It wasn't too hard because all of them weren't even using Armament haki to block my attacks. However, their speed was pretty decent compared to the normal person, but that was pretty much it.

I couldn't say the same for the others that Roger and his crew that were fighting. There weapons had some hints of Armament haki on them, but it wasn't too concerning.

The Roger Pirates made quick work of the invading Skypieans, some were killed, others had parts of their bodies mutilated, while others were simply defeated without any signs of resistance.

It took a while for everything to settle down after the attack, some of the Roger Pirates were injured as a result of the conflict. Fortunately it wasn't too severe to cause major concern for them. Roger and Rayleigh slowly made their way towards me while dragging the person who I assumed to be the leader.

"Yo! We managed to find the leader!" Roger exclaimed happily.

"Why did you catch him?" I asked quizically.

"So he can tell us where the ruins are!" Rayleigh answered immediately.

"I already know where its located though..." I commented.

It was then, that a brief akward silence enveloped the entire forest as we all looked at each other in silence. I think that they were all stunned upon hearing the sudden news.

"Let's hear what the man has to say for himself first before we go what I had sensed earlier," I suggested.

"Good idea!" Roger replied enthusiastically before kicking the unconcious leader awake, "Yo! Where is the lost city of gold?"

"If we knew it, we wouldn't be here now would we?!" The leader, who coughed a few times after opening his eyes, replied venomously.

"Well that confirms it," I responded, "The Skypieans really don't know the exact location of the Lost City of Gold."

"Were there any doubts about the Old Man?" Roger asked curiously.

"Never hurts to have a second opinion about things now is it?" I responded casually.

"Indeed, we can't always go by the word of mouth of others. They could use that oppurtunities to exploit us," Rayleigh noted.

"Indeed, but we should start seriously looking for the city," I replied, "Follow me."

We immediately left the defeated Skypieans where they lay, and started following the scent that I had noted when I was on top of the mountain.
