I was now in a stand-off with Pato.
He was furious, and he had immediately raised his hands as if that would stop me from going through him. His tail, was oddly shaped like a pen, and it seemed to be drawing something on the ground. The other nurse clones seemed to have dissapeared when Redfield died, but I didn't pay too much attention to it.
Knowing that he was likely to start trouble, I immediately appeared infront of the Racoon dog and picked it up from the back of his jacket. He squirmed and moved furiously as I raised him up, but that didn't change the fact that he was still small.
"Let! Me! Go! You weirdo!" He said while squirming about.
"You know, resisting is kind of futile for your height," I commented.
"Shut up, you bastard! Just you wait, I'll summon a bunch of clones, and they're gonna beat you to a pulp!" He retorted malicously, well, I can't really call it malicous when the face he put on was similar to an angry teddy bear.
"Oh, I'm so scared~" I replied sarcastically as I picked up the Devil Fruit.
Ignoring the kicks and protests of the Racoon dog, I looked around to see the amount of Carnage that I had made during my fight with Redfield, the town was basically destroyed. I could sense that some people were still alive, but their numbers were small compared to the number they had when we arrived.
It was obvious that a lot of people had died while we fought, but that really didn't matter to me. I doubt that Jaya island was going to make a recovery, but I was always ready for surprises.
After getting my axe and strapping it on my back, I took the Devil fruit and Pato back on the ship. Throughout the entire journey, Pato continued to go on a cussing tirade and thrashed about. He was about as light as a feather so he really wasn't doing much, but I didn't really care.
We reached the ship, only to find the crewmembers sitting about in a sombre atmosphere. It seemed that they were still brooding over what had happened earlier. Thinking about it, they had failed my little challenge of breaking free of my bloodlust. Matter of fact, the only person who had managed to break free of it was Stussy, who was currently sitting nearby and reading a newspaper.
"Shut up for a second, I want to say something," I clamped Pato's mouth shut as I looked at Ken and the discouraged crew.
"Listen up, all of you failed the challenge, so y'all are gonna be doing Spartan training for the next couple of weeks. I want to see everyone sweating when they exercise. How the hell are we going to be protecting the rest of the Whitebeard crew when we can't even protect ourselves? I don't want to see this again, you hear?" I announced to the crowd.
The crewmembers immediately cheered in agreement, and the previous sombre atmosphere immediately flipped to a energetic one.
"Now, get ready to set sail, I want to get out of here in a couple of minutes," I instructed. The crew roared in compliance as they soon began to tend to the ship with a renewed vigour. Stussy walked up to me with a smile, while she had her eyes on Pato, who seemed to have taken a break from his cursing tirade and was dangling about.
"Who's the racoon?" Stussy asked curiously.
"His name is Pato, he's going to be sailing with us," I responded.
"I never said that I'd travel with you, bastard!" Pato yelled.
"He seems to be a very spirited individual," Stussy replied while chuckling.
"Well, if you like him so much, why don't you keep an eye on him for me? I couldn't be bothered," I replied casually as I flung the racoon-dog Stussy's way.
Stussy immediately caught Pato, and gave him a nice tight hug.
"It's nice to meet you, Pato, my name is Stussy; and I'll be in your care, okay~" Stussy briefly introduced himself.
"Let-me-go!!!" Pato immediately tried to shake Stussy off, but his efforts were in vain. As Stussy didn't budge.
"Also, I want you to have this," I said as I handed her the Devil Fruit.
"H-how did you get this?" Stussy asked.
"You're really going to give it to her! You bastard!" Pato exclaimed while glaring at me furiously.
"First of all, because it's mine, I'll give it to who I deem fit," I replied to Pato, who continued to glare at me, "Second, that Devil fruit belonged to the Red Count, or at least I think it is."
"You're going to give it to me? Are you sure?" Stussy asked.
"Yes, I'm sure. I trust you, after all," I replied as I stared deep into Stussy's eyes.
She smiled and took a large bite out of the fruit. Pato could only watch on helplessly as she ate the entire fruit. Stussy's face had contorted in disgust as she finally took the last bite out of the fruit, I had forgotten to warn her of the Devil Fruit's taste, but she ended up getting a first hand experience at it.
"I feel like I should've gotten a warning before I ate it," Stussy chided.
"No use crying over spilt milk, try getting used to your new abilities. We're going to sail now," I replied.
"Where are you taking me, bastard?!" Pato demanded while thrashing about in Stussy's arms.
"My name isn't bastard, raccoon, it's Boris; and we're going to Skypiea," I replied.
"Skypiea?! Did Red Boss make you lose brain cells while you fought?! Didn't you hear that it was a myth?!" Pato, for the first time, laughed right in my face as he said so.
I ignored him and promptly headed over to where Ken was giving instructions. He was busy discussing with Brok and Kane over which was the best route to get to the Knock-up Stream, at least that was what I had assumed.
"So, did the man talk?" I asked.
"Commander!" Ken immediately turned to me, "the man claimed that he had seen the geyser a couple of days east from here."
"Anything else?"
"Yes, he had also said that he had seen more of them often towards the blues compared to when he was in the Grandline," Ken replied.
I thought about it for a moment while I sparked a cigarette. The Strawhats got to the grandline way before they got to Skypiea. So it didn't make sense for him to go to the blues to be able to get to Skypiea.
"Let's head east then, and if we don't find it there we'll take some more measures afterwords," I instructed. Brok and Kane immediately nodded and took off to their positions as the ship immediately began to leave the port of Jaya.
Puffing on the cigarette, I sat down on the barrel and promptly began looking over the news that Stussy, who was still holding Pato, brought over. I made it a habit to always keep an eye on the news whenever I left the New World, I could never tell exactly what would happen whenever I left it.
"Wait, so you're serious about going to Skypiea? You know that place hasn't been discovered right? It was just a story told by Noland the Liar! It's not real! Don't take me out of an island just to kill me within the sea!!" Pato immeidately began to complain and thrash about.
"Pato, you can't keep thrashing about like that, you know? I might just toss you into the sea by accident if you keep this up~" Stussy said darkly.
I felt a brief shiver run down my spine as Stussy said that, I didn't understand why I was getting shivers when she was talking to Pato.
"Thi-these bastards are crazy!" Pato stammered as he finally remained still.
