Chapter 28 - Killing the Elemental

Give me your powerstones!!!

[In progress: 69%]

Ken stretched his body as he scrolled through the common skill list in front, waiting for the merging to finish.

"How many are there... I already scrolled through a few tens of thousands now..." he inquired, perplexed by the insane amount of common skills.

[There are almost a million common skills, and if you are looking for a specific kind of skill, just tell me... I am getting bored watching you only scroll.]

"Hmm, something similar to my enhancement but uses magic as the base, or maybe something that helps me infuse magic," Ken requested, and the screen changed and showed him a few hundred skills that were related or similar in any way to his description.

"This one seems good enough," he muttered as he picked a skill.

[Mana infusion

Infuse mana into yourself or anything you touch and enhance the overall attributes.

The mana you infuse determines the enhancement.]

"Hmm, why is the notification different now? Will you replace all the game notifications as well? Or is it the only thing?" he curiously asked.

[Yeah, all the notifications are now from me. You are no longer in a game. Also, unlike the blessed ones who have access to the game system, you won't. What you will get from the game are the event notifications and a log-off button.]

She lazily answered, making Ken frown, "So, the map function, messaging, and others are gone?"

[Yep, and the game will identify you as an NPC, so it will ignore you no matter what you do. But the other players will still see you as a player because of your title 'The Strongest Player,' but people like Siria will see you as a fellow beta player who became an NPC.]

She explained, her tone becoming lazier, and her last words were slurred, showing her boredom clearly.

[In progress: 96%]

Ken let her be and looked at the progress of the merge.

[In progress: 97%]

[In progress: 98%]

[In progress: 99%]

[In progress: 100%]

The screen disappeared, and Ken looked on blankly, "Is that all? Well, better than anything flashy..."

"This is a little concerning. Siria can see the status, it would be a problem if she sees the Magic circuit, Mana tier, Affinities, and System points. I doubt she would let me off easy," he smilingly said, "A pity I am weaker than her," he added with a little regret.

[It will only take you 3 or 4 months to reach her level, so don't bother. Plus, if you two meet in BlueVail, I am pretty sure you will have the upper hand.]

"How so?" he curiously asked as he made his way to the 8th floor.

[You will see when you check the surprise later on.]

Ken shrugged.

On the 8th floor,

Ken walked around, his sword in hand. He avoided all the monsters and only looked out for the Elemental.

But he didn't have to take too long to find it, "Hey there~! I am back!" Ken announced as he looked at the Elemental, who only stared at him.

[? Why is it passive now?]

The system couldn't help but ask.

"That's simple... it is curious. When it chased me, it was also only curious... Elementals are very curious, and they are like cats but with zero awareness of danger. Of course, that is only when they are newborns. This one should be around a few months old," Ken explained, and his sword glowed in a blue hue, indicating his skill Enhancement was used.

[Hmm, a few months old, and it's level 80+ already. Good luck fighting this thing, also don't die—you still need to see the surprise,] she lazily remarked.

Ken walked forward, arriving right in front of the Elemental, which was nearly 4 meters tall. The Elemental tried to grab Ken, but he disappeared and reappeared right under it by using his Quick Step skill.

And finally, he used his new skill. His sword shined in blue and white, the blue being covered by the white.

Ken slashed the leg of the Elemental and used 'Quick Step' to get to the other leg and slash at it as well.

The Elemental looked in confusion at the deep slash on its leg. It tried to grab Ken again, but he got away using the skill and slashed at the legs, making the legs almost halfway cut.

The Elemental slightly raised its foot and stomped, and the ground began to rise and block all the way out. Then, its hand moved at a terrifying speed, trying to grab Ken, who escaped again and slashed at its leg.

The Elemental seemed a little frustrated and immediately pressure engulfed Ken, who frowned. Ken tried to move, but his feet were covered in rock that locked him in place.

He quickly enhanced his legs, broke out of it, and jumped back, avoiding the grabbing hand of the Elemental, but was a little too late for it. The rocky hands of the Elemental touched his legs and instantly broke his leg bone.

Crack!

The sound of bone cracking came, but Ken looked calm. He stood on one leg as his other limped but was still good enough for a few steps.

Ken examined his leg, and couldn't help but grow a little more cautious, "If I am grabbed then I am dead for real... just a touch did this much damage..."

[If this was only a little aware then you would be dead... No matter how I look at the situation, it looks like you are it toy that is trying to run]

The system remarked seriously

He appeared in front of the Elemental's leg and slashed it, making the halfway-cut leg almost down it deep enough for the leg to fall. And so it did,

CRACK!!! THUD!

Its leg crumbled, leaving it with one leg now. It tried to turn around but with one leg missing

BAM!!!

It couldn't hold its own weight or maintain its balance and fell face-first. It tried to get up but every time it tried to use its missing leg as support.

[That all...? I am pretty sure Elemental is supposed to be just this much]

"It can make another leg, but it's too young to figure such things out, and has no sense of danger, making it prey for anyone that can kill it," Ken explained. "You really need to finish the anime, the Elemental stuff is in the last parts," he informed as he slashed off the other leg.

[I was expecting a grand showdown of some kind... this is a little disappointing.]

The system commented, and Ken shrugged.

"You want a grand battle? After I learn a few spells, you will see one, and maybe not just one, you will be seeing them in thousands and possibly millions." Ken declared confidently, his tone absolute and dominating.

"But I can't promise I would win all of them or all of them would be grand fights," he added, making the system giggle.

[Hehehehehe! You don't have to worry, I will make sure that you will have them, and if you don't, it will be on me~! How about it?]

"Sure, throw whatever you got at me, I will gladly take it on. But if I have a chance to cause trouble for you, I will happily make sure you are in deep, deep trouble," he challenged and stood on the wriggling Elemental that was still trying to get up.

[Sure~ I would like to see how you do that~!]

And, of course, the system didn't back off.

Ken's sword glowed, and he stabbed it straight into the Elemental's back, making the whole blade be inside it. Then he violently dragged it towards the Elemental's head while pouring almost half of his mana into the sword.

The Elemental's core, which was located at the center of its chest, was slightly cut by the sword and was stuck, but that was all that was needed for the Elemental to realize something: it was close to dead. So it writhed violently, its arms flaring around, smashing the ground, causing mini earthquakes that made cracks form everywhere.

"GGGRRRRRRRRR"

It roared desperately now, as its core started to crack, and it finally felt pain,

Ken backed off immediately not staying close to the thrashing elemental, "Hmm, a pity. If I was a little stronger then I could have carved out its core undamaged," He casually remarked as he sat down and checked his leg.

[just leave it be, you got an easy kill here with minimum damage taken, not to mention it is a level 80+ creature that could bring down a whole city alone, not to mention you got a newborn elemental which makes it more valuable]

Plz, comment!!! I like reading comments!!

If you have ideas about my story, feel free to mention them! This novel's plots are planned but not all minor plots. Any ideas are accepted, even if they are the stupidest things you can think of! (Well, not the overly sexual + fiercely Dark kinds) I will try to add them in!
