Friday night, Winding Racing Tracks…
Even though the night had already set in, with the world shrouded in darkness, the racing tracks were currently flooded with lights from the floodlights that surrounded the entire racing tracks.
Instead of the stands that surrounded the tracks being empty, they were currently full, with the majority of the audiences being the youth. Despite the majority of them being the youth, one would occasionally find that there were those in the middle age present.
Today was considered as a special occasion that occurred in this racing tracks once every week. Every Friday night, there was going to be a competition, a racing competition, between the young masters within the city.
But of course, today's event was quite more special. The reason behind that being the fact that this was an event that occurred once every month, a competition that was between the top experts of the young generation was occurring.
It might be true that races would occur each and every day within these racing tracks, but they did not attract that much attention. As for the race being illegal, that was something that was solved quite easily by the young masters through the connections that their families possessed.
The crowds In the stands shouted as they cheered while looking towards a certain direction. It was in that direction that the group of youths that was going to participate in the competition was gathered.
This group of youngsters consisted of all the young masters of the city, that were at least interested in racing. As for the others that were not that much interested in racing, they either did not come, or were just in the spectating area that was set aside for the VIP.
Henry was sitting in the VIP spectating area, which was completely isolated from the rest of the stands in the racing tracks. He was together with several young masters and young ladies of the rich families, spectating from there.
From the previous incident where Jack had defeated Simon, Henry and Jack became famous, and so, they were not being viewed as strangers. Even though most of them had not seen what had really happened back then personally, but nonetheless, they had seen the video of the race.
The majority of those that appreciated racing thought that Jack's driving skills were amazing. Nonetheless, those that believed to be the best did not want to believe that, and so, they wanted to compete against Jack.
Henry was not interested in the conversation that was going on around between the youths surrounding him. It might be true that in his last life he did not have a good experience in his youth, and neither did he get a chance of enjoying it, he did not want to do that now either.
He just felt uncomfortable trying to act as a person of the same age as this group of youngsters around him. At the end of it all, despite the body only being 18 years old, his mental age was way higher than that.
On the other hand, where there was a small group of people that was going to participate in the race, Jack stood alone. The others were chatting with each other, while others began making bets on who was going to win the race.
As for Jack, he was not much interested in making connections with these young masters. In fact, he was not also interested in racing. The only reason why he was here was simply because he wanted money, and this was going to be the easiest way to be able to earn the money.
Out of the 100 betting chances that he had gotten from the system, he had already used one of them the previous time that he was here, after the race with Simon. This time, it was going to be another chance for him to use the multiplier effect on the income earned from betting.
Even though Jack wanted to save the bidding chances as much as possible, since he wanted to start as quick as possible, he had no choice but to use it. But this was going to be the last time that he was going to use the multiplier effect on the income from betting on such small incomes.
"Hey Jack, I want to see you beat me today. Last time, you were extremely lucky that you won against me. This time, I will show you my driving skills, to let you know that you cannot compare with me." Suddenly, and arrogant voice that was filled with hatred suddenly reached Jack's ears.
Jack did not have to turn around to know who it was that was speaking. After all, just from the content of the words spoken, and the voice, he could already tell that who was speaking was none other than Simon.
Simon was of course not happy that Jack did not turn to look at him despite having spoken. With no choice, he had to move from behind Jack's car, to stand in front of him, so that they could face each other, face to face.
The Interaction between the two of them immediately attracted the attention of the other young masters around. Jack could recognize a few of them, as some of them had been present the previous time that he had raised with Simon. As for others, he had seen them in passing, and had encountered some of them while in school.
"Are you courageous enough to bet with me this time? Last time, you went away with my savings, together with my car. This time, I want to make a big bet. Do you dare to do that?" Simon asked while looking at Jack provocatively.
Jack could not help but raise his brows a little. He had not anticipated that Simon still had something that he wanted to throw away. It seemed that since he was saying that he wanted to bet big, it implied that he had something bigger than the car and the $300,000 that Jack had won the previous time.
"I don't think that you have anything that I can consider big. So, there is no need for that." Jack simply waved him off. Well, he was just provoking him, just like the previous time.
Simon gritted his teeth in anger. He wanted to retort, but remembering the last time that Jack had provoked him, he had ended up losing much more than what he had even wanted to gain.
Trying to calm himself down, while telling himself that he could not fall into Jack's schemes, Simon said, "I already know what you are trying to do. You are trying to provoke me, to make sure that you get something bigger from me. But believe me, you don't even need to do that this time."
"Well, I think he has gotten a little smarter." Jack muttered in a low voice.
"What have you said?" Simon asked. Since Jack had spoken in a low voice, Simon had not been able to clearly tell what Jack had said. But he felt that whatever it was that Jack had said, it was definitely nothing good towards him.
"Just ignore it. So, what is it that you want to bet this time?" Jack asked.
"This time, I want to bet the shares that I hold from the hotel that my family owns. I hold only 1% shares of the hotel, but you understand the value of those shares, right?" Simon suddenly said something that surprised all the people around, including Jack.
1% shares of Jumbo hotel with something of great value. Jumbo hotel was a company that was valued at $800 million. 1% of the shares of Jumbo hotel was already valued at $8 million.
In simple terms, what Simon was putting at stake here was $8 million. That was an amount that none of them could ever dream of owning, at least at the current stage of their lives. They might be able to get that amount later on as they grew up, but for the time being, it was obvious that they would not be allowed by their families to own such a big amount of money.
And despite Simon owning 1% shares of Jumbo hotel, that did not imply that he could make any decisions within the hotel. Instead, he was just like a passive shareholder, receiving dividends at the end of the year. Even these 1% shares had only been given to him the last time that he had gone back home.
"It seems that you have something that can interest me a little. So, what do you want in return if you win?" Jack asked, even though he already knew that this was something that he was going to win, not needing to know what Simon wanted.
In the ears of the people around, they could not help but feel that Jack was talking arrogantly. He was saying that 1% shares of Jumbo hotel could only slightly interest him? How many people did not know that Jumbo hotel was amongst the top hotels within the city?
How many people wanted to get the shares of the hotel, but could not get a chance of doing that? Getting this 1% shares of this hotel was something that troubled many people that wanted to get involved with Jumbo hotel.
Simon was obviously irritated upon hearing what Jack had said. Nonetheless, he maintained his composure as he said, "I do believe that it is not a problem for you to be able to get the shares from your hotel. Just like me, I do believe that you can get 1% shares of your hotel. If you can't, then you are not eligible to race against me. But if you can, that is what I want."
"Hiss!" The people around could not help but be surprised by just how big the bet between these two was. Just what was it that gave them the confidence of staking this high?
