Standing alone in the black void, Lars looked around trying to understand the recent turn of events. He had just won the hardest game of his life, then he answered some weird email, and the next thing he knew he was stuck in some wide black room. He was about to panic when a screen popped up in front of him.

Suddenly Lars was bombarded with information. The sudden rush of information made him feel like his head had been split with an ax. He felt weak and his brain hurt, but he somehow managed to get back up to his feet. As he did the screen message changed in front of him.

"Hmm" Lars brought his hand to his chin and began to rub the bristles as he thought.
He finally realized what was going on, being the dedicated Otaku he was, he had seen this trope a hundred times in anime and webnovels. He had somehow been Iseaki by some deity or extraterrestrial being and now was going to have to play out a plot for their entertainment. There was much he could do about the current circumstances, afterall if he refused to play along it was likely he would just be killed. And he didn't feel like dying just yet.
So he pushed the start button on the screen.

Suddenly a bunch of stars popped up on the screen from one star to five stars. He decided not to be a punk and tried to pick 5 stars to start.

He was confused not understanding why it presented him with an option he could select in the first place. He then chose the two star setting; he wasn't a complete newb afterall.

Then a bunch of different genre types appeared in front of him with a bubble next to their title. It was pretty standard; slice of life, school life, romance, etc. Lars then picked the six that spoke to him and he knew the most about. He picked harem, fantasy, action, adventure, supernatural, and finally ecchi. The screen loaded for a few seconds before changing again.

It was then when two names popped up in front of him that he knew all too well. The first was Sekirei. A story about a bunch of big breasted women with superpowers fighting each other in a city. The second was a notorious anime that he knew a little too well, Highschool DxD. A story about female devils with huge tits fighting over some simp who happened to possess a dragon. It was actually a hentai that had been disguised as a shounen.
He quickly found that he couldn't go back and redo his choices so he had to pick one. After a moment of consideration he chose the female devil anime. He figured that at least men can get powers to defend themselves in this universe unlike the world of Sekirei. It most certainly is not because he has any ulterior motives. Nope, not at all. After picking the world to be sent to another screen popped up.

Lars was hoping he could just transmigrate into Issei's body or something and make his life a lot easier. But he guessed that would be too easy after all, since after being killed by a fallen angel Issei life was practically on easy mode. So he went through and swiped at the screen.
When he slowly and carefully selected each detail about his future character but he faced a problem when he got to the end. For the race he was presented with five options; devil, angel, fallen, yokai, and human. Each race came with advantages and disadvantages with their choice but the human race came with the lowest stats out of all of them. Though surprisingly there was a star attached to the human choice. When he clicked on it, it displayed all the beginner human stats.

Lars quickly found the question mark sign to be intriguing. Sure all the other stats were beyond pathetic compared to the others. So then why was the potential undefined? He then remembered that in this universe human beings were the only ones who could inherit a magic weapon called a longinus. A super weapon that would grant a mortal the power to kill super devils and even gods. Of course Issei just used his boosted gear to talk to boobs, god what a douche. After a moment he decided to follow his gut and picked the human as his character's race.

Lars felt his mind contort as his mind was bombarded by the system notifications. The info from the tutorials were giving him a splitting headache.
"Is the pain going to ever stop?" He wondered to himself he had lived a pretty pampered life until now and was unaccustomed to pain.
The system then began to read off the choices he had made for his character.

Battle Senses allows one to rapidly and quickly make assessments in the heat of battle and other combat situations. Permitting rapid martial skill increases through combat, training, and meditation. Rapid Adaptation increases the recovery rate of the user's stamina, mana, healing, etc. The recovery rate increases along with the user's level.

With all of his preparations done and his decisions made Lars was ready to go. He reached down to the screen and pressed the launch button.
[Program Launch, good luck player.]
Suddenly a wave of energy washed over Lars' body covering him like a wet blanket. All around him the black void slipped away, the world becoming bright and filled with color.
Then as fast as the snap of a finger, Lars found himself in a new world.
He was lying in a large but rather comfortable bed, staring up at an old wooden plank ceiling. Lars blinked his eyes a few times trying to adjust to the light of the sun that was coming through one of the windows. His skin felt hot and itchy, with his stomach churning from the trip.
He felt like vomiting which he promptly did all over his bed sheets. After emptying his stomach over the bedspread he whipped the human chum from his mouth with his arm. Once he finished spilling his guts, he slowly gathered his wits and analyzed his situation. He looked around the room. It was an old Japanese styled room. Considering it looked nothing like his apartment or a hospital room he discerned that everything that had just transpired was real, and not a hallucination.
So he really did just get isekai to a manga world. He had always read about Isekai in manga and seen it on his monitor when he watched anime, but experiencing it was completely different.
With a groan Lars threw off the soiled sheets and sat up from the bed. The sheets were soft and comfortable and the bed was wider than the twin he had in his old room. Trying to stand up from the bed took more effort than he expected, but not enough to stop him. He wheezed and stepped up onto the hardwood floor.
After getting out of the bed he looked down and noticed that he wasn't wearing any clothes. His beer belly was gone, along with his weak arms. His stomach was now skinny and lean, with developing abs, nothing to boast of but a good start. His arms were well defined and felt strong. His skin was now more fair, not the pasty white he had from his years avoiding the sun.
Almost falling over Lars quickly made it to the house's bathroom. Above an old leaky sink Lars looked into the full size mirror. As he gazed inside the polished glass made his eyes go wide. His hair was no longer short or sandy blonde. It was medium length and ebony black with slight curls at the end that flowed backward. His green eyes were now plume red, and framed with long eyelashes. Not to mention the face. The face itself was young, delicate, and vibrant. All his face fat was gone and now he had a cut diamond shaped face instead. A small smirk broke out across his face as he rubbed his beardless chin.
"Watch out ladies." He said with confidence and undeserving swagger.
Lars made his way to the window sill and pushed the two windows open. Letting in the fresh air and the early morning sun. As he felt the UV rays that he used to despise bath his skin as well as the dew on the breeze, a broad smile broke out across his face.
