Chapter 56 - Dabao and Su in Beijing

Dabao was making his way through the crowded streets of Beijing, his mind consumed by the events at the lab. The tension was thick, and the weight of his actions hung heavy on his shoulders. He had just finished gathering crucial intel, but before he could process it further, he felt a familiar presence.

He turned a corner and saw Su standing there, arms crossed and her eyes burning with anger. The moment their eyes locked, he knew he was in trouble.

Su: (sternly) Dabao…

Dabao froze. Her gaze was sharp, and she was clearly pissed off. He had been reckless again, and Su had every right to be angry. He could already feel the weight of her disappointment in the air.

Su: (gritting her teeth) I've been worried sick about you! What the hell do you think you're doing, running off and getting into danger like that again?!

Dabao's shoulders slumped slightly, but he quickly reminded himself of Hanyu's words—"Calm your girlfriend down, Dabao. You know how to do it."

He took a deep breath and flashed Su a playful, seductive grin.

Dabao: (teasing) Oh, come on, Su. You know I can't help being reckless when the stakes are so high.

Su rolled her eyes, clearly not impressed. But there was a flicker of something in her expression—something more vulnerable, something she couldn't hide.

Su: (pouting) You're impossible. You always do these things and expect me to just... forgive you.

Dabao stepped closer, his tone softening, his voice low and calming. He placed a hand gently on her shoulder, guiding her to look at him.

Dabao: (smiling) I don't expect anything from you, Su. But I can't help it if you're my weakness.

Su looked at him, her lips trembling, torn between scolding him and the warmth she always felt when he got close. She tried to stay angry, but her gaze softened.

Su: (sighing) You're unbelievable, Dabao. And now you look more like some kind of… god. What happened to you? You're practically a walking crime with that perfect body of yours.

Dabao's grin widened as he looked down at himself, flexing his muscles in the light. He had always been in top physical shape, but now with his enhanced Titan abilities, his body had transformed, the definition more intense, the power evident in every movement.

Dabao: (chuckling) What can I say? I'm a walking crime against your calm heart.

Su's face flushed a little, clearly caught between her frustration and undeniable attraction. She crossed her arms, but the pout was still there, softer now, as she couldn't help but let herself be charmed by him despite her irritation.

Su: (grumbling) You're lucky I can't stay mad at you for long.

Dabao laughed softly, his tone warm and affectionate. He stepped closer, his presence overpowering yet reassuring.

Dabao: I know, Su. You can never resist me.

Su huffed, but a smile tugged at the corner of her lips. She looked up at him, eyes filled with a mix of affection and frustration.

Su: (softly) Just… promise me you'll stop doing reckless things. I can't keep worrying about you like this.

Dabao pulled her into a gentle embrace, his voice quieter, more sincere now.

Dabao: I promise, Su. I'll be more careful. But you know I have to do what I do. The world won't save itself.

Su leaned into him, still upset but unable to resist the comfort of his arms.

Su: (muttering) You're impossible, but I guess that's why I'm so damn weak for you.

Dabao chuckled softly, his hand brushing through her hair.

Dabao: And that's why I'll keep you close. Always.

As they stood together in the quiet of the street, the weight of their emotions settled between them. Dabao knew he'd always be reckless, always push the limits. But Su was his anchor—and maybe, just maybe, he'd find a way to be a little less reckless, for her.

After the intense moments between Dabao and Su, a slight silence hung in the air before Su, still in his embrace, pulled back and looked at him with a playful glint in her eyes.

Su: (teasing) Well, now that you're done being reckless and saved the world again, I think you owe me something.

Dabao raised an eyebrow, a mischievous smile creeping onto his face.

Dabao: Oh? What exactly do I owe you, princess?

Su crossed her arms, her lips curling into a sly smile.

Su: You owe me a dinner date, of course. Since it's technically our first official date, I expect you to treat me right.

Dabao grinned, his confidence unshaken as he gave her a quick wink.

Dabao: A dinner date, huh? I can do that. But you know, if I'm treating, I'm going to make sure it's special. And I think you'll need to get used to a little flirting from me.

Su raised an eyebrow, a playful challenge in her voice.

Su: Flirting, huh? I think I can handle it. But you better keep it up. No slacking off just because we're in a relationship now.

Dabao chuckled, stepping closer as he gave her a teasing once-over.

Dabao: Oh, don't worry. I'm just getting started. You're lucky to have someone as irresistible as me.

Su rolled her eyes but couldn't suppress a small, amused smile.

Su: You sure know how to talk yourself up. Let's see if your actions match those words tonight, Mr. Charming.

Dabao took her hand with a playful flourish, his fingers brushing over her palm as he led her towards the restaurant. His flirtatious smile never wavered.

Dabao: Trust me, you'll be so impressed, you won't know what hit you. But just remember… I'm a rare breed. Not many men can keep up with me.

Su smirked, her eyes narrowing mischievously as they walked together.

Su: Keep talking, Dabao. I'm waiting for the real charm to come out. Show me why I'm weak for you.

They reached the restaurant, a quiet, elegant place with soft lighting and a romantic ambiance. The hostess led them to their table, and as they sat down, Dabao immediately flashed his most charming smile at Su.

Dabao: You know, you look absolutely stunning tonight, Su. You always do, but I swear, every time I see you, you get even more beautiful.

Su raised an eyebrow, clearly enjoying the attention.

Su: (playfully) Is that how you're going to flirt with me tonight? Just empty compliments?

Dabao leaned in closer, his voice low and confident.

Dabao: Oh, it's far from empty. I mean it. Every time I see you, I'm reminded of how lucky I am. You're strong, fierce, and you've got that fire in you that I can't get enough of.

Su felt a blush creeping up her neck, though she refused to let him see the full effect of his words. She leaned back in her chair, trying to play it cool, but her eyes betrayed her.

Su: (grinning) Okay, okay. You're getting better. But you're going to have to keep it up if you want to impress me.

Dabao smirked, leaning back with a satisfied look on his face.

Dabao: Oh, don't worry. You're not the only one who can take the heat. Just wait until we get to dessert. You'll be on your knees for me.

Su laughed, shaking her head, though a playful twinkle danced in her eyes.

Su: Keep dreaming, Dabao. You've got a long way to go before that happens.

Dabao winked, his confidence never wavering.

Dabao: I never rush a good thing, Su. And trust me, this date is just the beginning.

The waiter approached, interrupting their playful banter as he took their orders. As the evening wore on, Dabao continued to pour on the charm, ensuring that every glance, every word, left Su slightly more captivated than before.

By the time dessert arrived—decadent chocolate lava cake and two glasses of red wine—Su couldn't help but admit that Dabao was exactly as irresistible as he claimed.

Su: (sighing) You're impossible, Dabao. But you're right about one thing... this date has been pretty unforgettable.

Dabao leaned forward, his voice soft but filled with a hint of sincerity.

Dabao: I told you. When it comes to you, I only give my best.

Su leaned in as well, their faces inches apart, and for a moment, the playful teasing between them melted into something far more intimate.

Su: (smiling) I'm starting to believe that. Maybe you're not as bad as I thought.

Dabao's grin widened, the victory clear in his eyes.

Dabao: Maybe you'll even start seeing just how hard it is to resist me.

As the night wore on, the flirtation between them continued—each moment more charged than the last. And while Dabao was far from finished with his playful teasing, he knew, deep down, that this was more than just a night of charm and flirtation. It was the beginning of something real—something that went beyond the thrill of the chase.
