Alpha Kellan took a slow breath and looked at the broken glasses. He sighed deeply and said to himself with pain and relief in his voice: "I don't need a partner," he whispered, this mantra soothing the pain in his heart. "I do not need anybody."
Alpha Kellan's thoughts drifted into the past, forgetting his father's downfall. "I can't let what happened to my father happen to me," he whispered, his voice heavy with the weight of history repeating itself.
But before he could think any more about his fear, his wolf spoke to him. "Why did you our Mate?" his wolf asked, disappointment and confusion in his voice.
Alpha Kellan felt the anger within him, his instincts telling him to silence the wolf's voice and cut the bond that held them together. He silenced the constantly asked questions with great courage and cut the bond between them.
Soon a heavy silence fell in the room, only Alpha Kellan's footsteps disturbing his thoughts.
When Ava stepped outside, her mind still reeling from her encounter with Alpha Kellan, she nearly collided with a woman standing in the hallway. It was Alpha Kellan's sister, Chloe, and her appearance immediately caught Ava's attention. "I'm sorry," Ava whispered, instinctively taking a step back.
But the smile on Chloe's face was warm, and her eyes sparkled with genuine kindness. "No need to apologize." he said in a cheerful voice. "I'm Chloe, Alpha Kellan's sister."
"I'm Ava," she replied, smiling tentatively. Chloe took his hand, smiling brightly. "Nice to meet you, Ava," she said happily. "Welcome to our park." The sincerity in Chloe's words made Ava's heart tremble, and the understanding in her heart was like a gentle wave.
"Thank you," she whispered, the weight of Alpha Kellan's rejection forgotten for a moment. Chloe's eyes sparkled with mischief as she continued: "I guess that makes you our Luna." But before she could react, Chloe wrapped her arms around him, her smile on the way.
Ava's resolve grew stronger as she slowly freed herself from Chloe's arms, determination shining in her eyes. "I was rejected," she said firmly, "but I will not go down without a fight. I will prove that I deserve a place on this team.
Chloe nodded in understanding, showing a mixture of sympathy and support. "I believe you, Ava," he said encouragingly. "My brother will come to his senses. Meanwhile, let's prepare a suitable room for you to stay.
But before they could take a step, Alpha Kellan's voice came from above. The air was like a knife." she will live. "In the servants' quarters," he said, his voice leaving no room for argument. "She will be a slave girl."
Ava's heart tightened at his harsh words, and her resistance to his rejection. But even as the shock threatened to consume her, she pulled himself together and refused to let Alpha Kellan's brutality destroy her soul.
"I will do as you say, Alpha Kellan," she whispered, his voice calm despite the chaos within. "But know this, I will not be defined by the role you gave me. I will fight for my right to be more than a servant.
Alpha Kellan walked down the hall, ready to compete first. As Ava stood in the maid's quarters, surrounded by other servants, she felt the weight of Alpha Kellan's orders weighing on her. His eyes were a mixture of curiosity and concern, silently accepting the sudden change.
The Messenger came forward; She was a woman with a big face, a flawless face, and sharp eyes. "You heard Alpha," she said quickly, her voice leaving no room for argument. "You will be under our supervision from this morning. "And you, Ava," she continued, her voice high, "will be responsible for cleaning the Alpha's room Ava nodded silently, her chin knowing the next task wouldn't be easy.
Determination crushed her heart with a purpose burning in her chest, she gathered the courage to face the challenges ahead Ava, worked tirelessly through out the day despite being weak.
As the evening approached, she found herself standing once again before Alpha Kellan's quarters, her muscles aching from the day's labor.
Summoning the last reserves of her strength, Ava squared her shoulders and entered the room, her eyes immediately scanning the space for any sign of disorder. With practiced efficiency, she set to work, dusting and tidying with meticulous care, her movements methodical and precise.
As she worked, Ava couldn't help but feel a sense of unease settle over her. Alone in the Alpha's quarters, she couldn't shake the feeling of being watched, as if unseen eyes were scrutinizing her every move.
But she pushed aside her apprehension, focusing instead on the task at hand. With each sweep of the cloth and each polished surface, she poured her energy into her work, determined to leave no trace of imperfection behind.
When exhaustion finally caught up with her, Ava sank into the plush cushions of Alpha Kellan's massive chair, her eyelids heavy with exhaustion. The events of that day flashed through her mind.
With her deep sighs she sank into the embrace of sleep, and the rhythmic rise and fall of her chest became a relaxing lullaby.
Despite her unfamiliar surroundings and the weight of her uncertainty pressing down on her, she found her solace in the silence of her room, its darkness providing temporary respite from the chaos of her thoughts.
And as she fell asleep, Ava drifted into a dream. It was a brief escape from the problems.
Alpha Kellan stood in the doorway, his gaze softening as he saw Ava fast asleep in her chair. Despite the fatigue on her face, there was a peace about her that tugged deep into his heart. It was a weakness he could not shake off.
As he examined her sleeping form, a rare smile appeared on his lips. Her presence was unfamiliar, but strangely welcome. In that moment, he couldn't deny the quiet admiration welling up inside him as he grudgingly acknowledged Ava's resilience in the face of her adversity.
Alpha Kelan sighed quietly and approached her quietly, trying not to disturb her sleep. As he stood next to her, a softness he had never known washed over him, and he caught a brief glimpse of a softer side he rarely showed.
As he brushed a strand of her hair away from her face, he couldn't shake the painful regret he felt for his previous cruel treatment of her.
