The wind whistled through the dense forest as I stood at the edge of James's pack territory. My heart pounded in my chest, and I could feel the tension thrumming in the air around me. Vincent, who stood beside me, was unusually quiet. His wolf had been restless for hours, pacing inside him, and it wasn't until we neared the borders of James's pack that I realized why.

"Something's wrong," Vincent murmured, his voice low and laced with a caution that made me shiver. His eyes scanned the treeline, his body tensed as if preparing for a fight. "The aura here… it's thick with darkness."

I nodded, feeling the same unsettling presence. It was like a heavy fog that had settled over the entire area, stifling any sense of peace or normalcy. I couldn't quite explain it, but my own wolf was growling inside me, alert and on edge. 

We had come this far, and I was determined not to turn back. I had to see James. He was my only hope now.
