The air was thick with tension as I stood at the edge of the ancient clearing, the towering trees around me casting long, ominous shadows. My heart pounded in my chest, each beat echoing in my ears as I prepared myself for what was about to come. The four Lycan ancestors stood before me, their presence alone enough to send a shiver down my spine.
They were legendary figures, revered and feared by all who knew their names. To stand against them in battle was something I had never imagined, but here I was, facing not just one, but all four of them.
"Are you ready, James?" Demi's voice was calm, almost soothing, as she spoke from beside me. But her eyes were hard, her expression one of grim determination.
I nodded, trying to keep my breathing steady. "As ready as I'll ever be."
