Aimee's POV
Our long journey finally came to an end. The moon was visible when we arrived at the forest in alpha Jacob's territory.
"How is it, Alpha Vincent? Should we go in now, or wait for morning to come?" I asked.
"We can go in now. Let's go," Alpha Vincent said, taking my hand and leading me towards the grand mansion that was visible in the distance. His confident gaze filled me with enthusiasm and gave me a sense of hope.
At least my doubts and fears were slowly dissipating. He, who had no personal stake in this matter, seemed happy to help me. As the one with the problem, I should also try to spread positive vibes.
But I couldn't lie when my heart pounded heavily as we arrived at the mansion's gates. Especially when the guard's voice began to be heard.
"Who's there?"
Alpha Vincent looked at me, smiled, and whispered, "Calm down, okay?"
