[scene : After leaving the secret lab which isn't secret anymore, Colt and the family are in the living room]
Zenon is clearly still mad… that exchange between me and Luna never changed a thing. But what's really troublesome… is Lana … her usually cheerful demeanor is gone.
Did I go too far with that one?
Either way, if this 'll keep their mouths shut , I don't care.
My problem here: I'm still not good enough with these awkward situations.
In order for these situations to be resolved, each side needs to understand how others feel… and… I'm still trying to understand myself.
This has turned out to be a major pain in the neck… I'm outta here.
Colt [seemingly mellowed down a bit after Luna's speech] : "Listen, this was getting a little intense, so I 'll go and make something for us."
*Leaves*
Zenon [clearly mad] : "So, he's just going to ignore us?!... is he going to pretend like nothing happened??!!"
*Lana stays silent facing the ground*
Zenon [looking at his wife's state, places his hand on her shoulder ,speaking to Luna] : "Look at what he's done !! look at the state your mother's in… how can you sit here and say nothing? Don't you care about us anymore?"
Luna [clearly hurt by his words, looks down, trying to hide the tears in her eyes] : "I do care about you, but I also love Colt, I can't do anything here, you're both right, each of you does what he thinks is best."
Zenon : "HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT??... no, it's not your fault.. it's mine, I kept my mind free of hatred.. I thought he was different… but he's like the rest of them… no, he's even worse he's-"
Luna [raises her face, tears start running down her cheeks] : "Please stop, don't *sobs* don't say that about Colt."
*Colt walks in, with four bowls of ice cream floating around*
*Colt takes a look at their faces*
Guess trying to dodge this crap made it worse, I should've been eavesdropping …
Damn it all… the only thing I can do is face this head on.
I need to de-escalate this ASAP.
Colt [sits down next to Luna, pats her on the head] : "This whole thing's on me. I'll have to resolve this. I can tell you had it rough, I'm sorry*breathes in, turns to Zenon* if you have something to say.. say it."
Zenon : "I have a lot of things to say alright… I never questioned your actions before out of gratitude and respect *looks at Lana* but you've crossed the line here, and I'm not allowing it… you can't keep doing this, not anymore… you threaten to destroy the world!, how dare you? Is that how little trust you have in us? After everything?! You treat us like strangers, just who do you think you are?"
How dare I ?? How dare I ?? I told them not to come , but did they listen? Noooo..
Damn it all… I should've stood firm.
And the way he speaks… it pisses me off…

*Luna notices the shift in Colt's emotions, Colt slightly tightens his hand on her head to prevent her from saying a word*
Colt [goes completely emotionless, his eyes lose their expression] : "I clearly upset you… and I clearly hurt Lana.. I can't say this was the outcome I expected.
If my words were what upset you… then I apologize.
You can do what you wish, but be warned: this world will eventually destroy itself if people find out… I am not needed.
As my father, I ask for your forgiveness*looks at Lana* sorry mother, I took that one too far."
*Lana finally raises her head, for it was the first time Colt called her "mother".*
Zenon [looks at Lana, starts to calm down…stays silent for a few seconds… looks at Colt with doubt] : "What just happened?"
*Colt stays silent.*
Zenon[with more doubt] : "Knowing you, you'd never back down like this… and what do you mean by the world will destroy itself?"
Colt : "Everything I make can be used as a weapon one way or the other. These creations should not be shared… or calamity awaits."
Lana [speaking for the first time since the lab, in a weak voice] : "What calamity?"
Colt[slowly turns his head to look at her, speaks in an emotionless voice, seemingly coming from a grave] : "Greed and ingenuity."
Zenon [about to reach the end of his rope] : "WE NEED A CLEAR ANSWER!!!"
Luna [deciding to intervein to resolve this] : "Father !! please, Colt apologized and asked for your forgiveness, mother, please say something."
*Lana looks at all of them unable to make up her mind.*
Zenon : "Not until we get an explanation."
Luna : "Father, please."
Colt [with an empty look] : "An answer is currently impossible."
Zenon : "WHAT DO YOU MEAN?"
Lana [looking at the abnormal reaction of Colt and Luna's worried face] : "Dear, that okay*looks at Luna* go to sleep now… we'll talk another time."
Luna[getting up in a hurry, taking Colt's hand] : "Thank you mother."
*Colt just automatically walks without saying a word.*
*They enter their room, Luna closes the door, Colt is just standing there.*
*Luna holds Colt's face with both hands on his cheeks.*
Luna : "Colt ! COLT!! COME BACK TO ME!"
*Kisses him.*
*Colt's eyes regain their expression.*
Colt : "Is it done?"
Luna [starts crying] : "Yes, it's done… it's done*sobs*"
Colt [hugs Luna, speaks in a soft tone] : "I worried you too much.. I'm sorry *kisses her forehead* stop crying now, it's not good for you or the baby."
Luna [still crying] : "When I felt what you did… I was… I was…"
Colt: "There's no way I'll completely lose my emotions again, not with you being with me… like I said before*lifts her head to look in her eyes* you. Are. My. Light."
*They stay in each other's arms for a while, until they both calm down*
*Luna with her head resting on his chest.*
Luna : "What did you mean by greed and ingenuity?"
Colt [stays silent for a few seconds] : "Here's a story from my old world: As you know we had no magic, so people had to dig the ground with their hands and tools to get iron and metals.
So, one man felt sorry for the workers… so he made something like a strong firework to make digging easier. It was like a high level fire spell. It was called dynamite… what do you think?"
Luna : "That man seems kind, and this dynamite seems useful…"
Colt [laughs a dim sad laughter] : "You'd think so… records say he was kind… and the dynamite was useful *his tone suddenly is filled with a mixture of anger and hatred * until some bastard thought : "This could be useful for killing people". it was used in wars since then… That's what I meant, it all happened before."
*Luna hearing this, raises her head, looks at Colt in shock*
Colt : "I don't know what's impossible in this world. Is there a way to use the technology I bring for warfare? I'm not willing to risk it. I. Am the living proof that when magic and science combine, the possibilities are endless… *dim laughter* what a sorry excuse for a hero, I don't give a damn about the people of this world… yet, my own power scares me… I'm just… darkness."
Luna [rests her head on his chest again, takes his hand] : "Then I have to keep being your light, I won't let you lose yourself, I will be your pillar… always."
*Shows Lana and Zenon eavesdropping outside the door.*
