Chereads / An Eldritch Legacy: Sacrilegious Darkness / Chapter 17 - Naming Ceremony......

Chapter 17 - Naming Ceremony......

What Kean was unaware of was that the moment he made his declaration the world outside of the temple and everything else that was not part of the ceremony was frozen when reality came to a standstill.

It seemed like someone out there did not want anyone to know of the things to take place in this place that they had to go to lengths of freezing reality and any reverberations that would come from this event.

Kean set his eyes on the figures bowed before him, His aura bloomed whether intentionally or not, the children did not cower before it, they knew that if they did then would not deserve the right to be named by Kean.

And so, they persisted and weathered that monstrous and horrendous aura that could bring out the worst fears in a person's being. But Kean did not seem to notice the aura that pervaded from his being. Opening his hands, thirteen black-gold feathers appeared.

Waving his hand, the feathers floated before him and seeing them, he felt extremely satisfied with himself. 'This has to be my greatest work yet.'

Everyone present could feel a dark malevolent mystical aura radiate out from these feathers, they wondered what they would be used for, but they did not dare question.

At this moment they were excited and anxious about what names they would be given, but before they could go far into their thoughts, they felt Kean's gaze on them.

Ignoring the feathers that were excited on feeling the pride of their master for them. Kean looked towards Kyrios, "Bring me the youngest." The wind roared.

Kyrios moved with adept speed and carried the youngest boys over to Kean. He then carried them in his arms as he said " Last of the chaotic brood, Let the darkness gaze at you. Come to me, bearers of the '#@&*@$"

Looking into their seemingly innocent eyes, Kean was able to notice something that attracted him so much. So much so that it intoxicated him to no end. Deep within these seemingly innocent eyes, he could see a deep simmering bloodlust.

A bloodlust so potent that if it was exposed to the world, it could form its own phenomenon in the world just by its purity. 'This won't do.... if they are to manifest such pure and potent bloodlust at such young age, they would become corrupted, though it would not be such bad thing, I would not want my First Heralds, to be mindless beasts and besides, the fact that they bear those @#*@#, it would make things complicated. So ill seal it away so that they would only be able to access a small part of it until they grow strong enough to fully wield it."

'Leaving that aside, these are surely interesting specimen, how I wish to get a comprehensive bloodline upon my rebirth, I am just brimming with so much inspiration right now. hehehe....my siblings will not know what hit them.'

While Kean was seemingly lost in his thoughts, the boys who were being held in his arms were so giddy at the thought of being carried by this enigmatic being. Too bad for the others, they are just too big to be carried like us, hehehe. If not for the gravity of the situation and the serious faces their siblings were having, they would have gloated endlessly to them hoping to see them burn in jealousy.

A voice broke them out of their fantasies. "Look at me young ones."

Kean gazed once more into their eyes, but this time he went beyond the simmering bloodlust. Looking into the demonic silted pupils in the eyes of the boy in his left hand, he could hardly stop himself from speaking, almost like as if he had already known the name, he would give to this child even before he was aware of his existence and all he had been waiting for, was his very moment.

Unlike last time, this time he used the Forgotten tongue of the Eldritch, not even known by most of those old entities, it was a language that only his Father had the right to speak, and by proxy, he also inherited that right. Maybe he did not know it now, but there was more to this Legacy that he wanted to inherit, but more about that later.

He spoke and this time the wind did not even get the chance to speak on his behalf before it was ripped and wiped off existence, for the sin of daring to grasp things way above its nature, things that were better left in the covers of Darkness, this time, no one but the child could hear him. All the others only felt themselves space out and before they knew it, the child had fallen into a deep sleep.

But as the child slept all he could think about was the voice of Kean saying to him, "From this moment onwards let it be known that your name is 'Draven', 'Draven Ere-bane Khan'. The one who sought to emulate the Deep Dark. With the claret from its deepest confines, you have gained its blessing."

"Take its token child ...and with it, the Legacies of the 'Dreaded Serpent' and the 'Sorrowful Light' are now bound to you. Conquer their might and you will earn the right to bear the 'Ere-bane' name."

As he bore the weight of the words of the tongue, he suddenly saw a black-gold feather fuse into his very being, from his body to his soul, but he was too young to understand anything about it.

All he felt was the searing pain of its fusion, it felt like someone had poured molten metal all over his body, but luckily for him, before the pain could break his fragile juvenile mind he was forced into a state of slumber.

Then... everything turned to darkness. He had never felt so comfortable in his whole life, even their mother's womb was shit compared to the feeling he got from the darkness around him. Their mother's womb was so cold and uncomfortable, they could always hear her screams of agony and torment, but they could do nothing but feel for her.

As days went by, they wished to escape from it, but they were too weak, and they felt themselves slowly wither and worst of all they felt fear...

***

As the boy fell into slumber, his brother who was in the right hand of Kean was frightened but Kean did not allow him any moment to lose focus, and so he forced the child to look away from his sibling who was later carried away by Kyrios who had appeared as if he had known what was to happen.

Looking into the boys, purple-gold irises which looked like halo of heavenly favor, he waited for a short while before a name came to him just like last time.

And also, just like last time, the others were not privy to the details, all they saw were two feathers among the thirteen fly and disappear into their foreheads before they collapsed and started to sleep. And that was left to show that something had happened, a Black gold tattoo of a quilled feather appeared on the foreheads.

But for the boy it was different. he wondered if this was how his twin brother also experienced it. A deep voice sounded in his head, " From this moment onwards let it be known that you are 'Lucien', 'Lucien Ere-bane Khan'. The one who sought to be the light of the Deep Dark."

" With this token, the Legacies of the 'Sacrilegious Monarch' and the 'Weeping Halo' are bound to you. Conquer their might and you will have proved your devotion to the Ere-bane name. In your being you bare the claret of the Deep Dark, with it you will never lose your way."

In the next moment Lucien could feel a heavy molten liquid engulf his whole being, but before it became horrendous, his mind shut down. He felt himself appear in a comfortable darkness. He felt so comfortable that he wanted to go to sleep immediately, but before he could, he felt the presence of someone he was familiar with.

Looking around, well he could not actually see, but he could feel around him. He tried to move in the direction he felt a pull. And he happened to find his brother there.

He felt so excited at finding his brother that he stopped thinking about the complicated things and so he curled around his brother who had gone into deep sleep. He immediately drifted off into sleep the moment he was sure that his brother was safe. he did not notice his brother's unconscious smile the moment he felt his presence.

They curled around each other seeking warmth from each other, they would protect each other even in the unknown, for as long as they had each other, the unknown did not seem so scary. This sight seemed to tell a tale.

A tale that would be written in the future to come, a story of two brothers that sundered the heavens.

And just like last time, Kyrios carried him. He then placed the two brothers together on pile of beast furs. P lacing them near each other.

But even as they slept, they sought each other out, almost subconsciously. They embraced each other tightly almost in awareness of the woes to come, together they will weather and only with each other would they be able to fight to the last day. As they brought glory to their names.

They will make sure that their names will cause many to weep. The House of Ere-bane will not be shamed.
