Chapter 10 - Chapter Ten

ZADYRE

Immediately she stepped into the hall, I sensed her wolf. My eyes immediately darted to the entrance and there she was.

After years of searching, I finally found her, my mate.

Her eyes sparkled as she walked in, a man with her and three little children behind them, and my wolf growled angrily.

Five years was surely enough time for her to move on. I took a sip of my drink in the corner of the hall where I sat with my guards, who patiently waited for my order.

Too bad for her, five years wasn't going to change the truth.

She belonged to me. And that's what I was here for. To reunite with my mate. And I do not care if she is married or has a new life with her kids that weren't mine.

I knew she was hiding out in the human world, but it took me so long to find her in all the states. And never did I know she was with this traitor, a member of my pack.

She thought she was smart with hiding under a new identity and appearance but all that didn't work.

I'm taking what's mine, tonight.

"Should we proceed, sir?" My head guard, asked, but I shook my head.

"After the ceremony, Jeremy."

The man beside her told her a joke, and she let out a laugh. I smirked.

We meet again, Brielle. And this time, I'll be damned to ever let you go. No matter what happens.

The ceremony began shortly after, and I watched her bounce excitedly in her chair, the man calming her down with a touch of his hand.

The simple gesture irked me, but I was patient. I've been patient for five years. A single gesture wouldn't put me off.

The award host called out the name she hid behind, and she excitedly walked up the stairs, her eyes sparkling as she beamed at the audience.

She took the microphone and her voice flowed through the speakers.

"I want to thank my main support system, my soulmate, James. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't be here. I love you, James. Thank you for all you do."

My grip on my glass tightened, and I drowned my drink in a go, getting up from where I sat in the shadows.

Time to shut this down.

"Sir, when do we strike?" Jeremy asked.

I watched as she stepped down from the podium and gave the man a hug, and the kids she came with. My stomach contorted with anger and an emotion I didn't want to focus on, and I turned to Jeremy.

"When you see my signal."

He nodded, and I stepped down heading straight out of the hall.

I could feel my wolf's rage burning within me and only revenge would calm him down.

Five years of searching, and now I finally found her, only to see her embracing another man and calling him her soulmate. The thought of it made my blood boil.

I signaled to Jeremy, and he nodded, knowing what to do. I walked out into the night air, the cool breeze doing little to calm my temper. I could see the guards stationed outside, their eyes scanning the area for any signs of trouble.

I walked up to them, my presence commanding their attention. "Take care of the husband and the kids," I growled. "I'll handle her."

They nodded, knowing better than to question my orders. I turned back to the hall, my eyes fixed on the entrance. It was only a matter of time before she came out, and when she did, she would be mine.

I was met with her scent before seeing her. Upclose, she was more beautiful than I remembered. Gone was that naive woman, this woman was more beautiful than anyone I've seen.

She stepped out of the hall, surrounded by guards and I scoffed, signaling to Jeremy.

Then I came out of hiding, walking towards them. They were to distracted to realize their guards were being taken down, and they only realized what was going on when I paused in front of them.

"What a nice speech you made in there. I didn't know one could have two mates."

I saw her freeze in her steps and her eyes widen in fear.

Her eyes met mine and she paled, her grip on the man's hand tightening as she shivered in fear.

"Zadyre?"

A smirk widened my lips. "Good to know five years isn't enough time to forget me. Even though you've tried to replace me with a poor substitute."

The man stepped in front of her protectively, his eyes shooting daggers at me. "Stay away from her." He growled and I let out a chuckle.

"James, was it? You seem to have forgotten I'm your alpha."

And Instantly, he fell to his knees, gripping his head tightly in pain. We Alphas, especially kings, have the power to inflict pain on those bound to us. James never swore off the pack. That was his mistake.

"James!" Brielle screamed. "What do you want, Zadyre? Why are you back? How did you even find me?"

"It's simple, Brielle." I bent to my knees, and softly held her chin, enjoying the look of hatred in her eyes, "I came to take back what's mine."

Her eyes paled, and she pulled away angrily. "I'm never going back, Zadyre. I'd rather die."

I stood back to my full height, "Suit yourself. Take the kids."

I gestured for the guards to take the kids away and Brielle rose up to stop them, but was held back.

"You've been gone for five years, Brielle," I said, my voice cold. "But that doesn't mean you're free from me."

"Leave my kids! Don't hurt them you monster!" She screamed, pulling away from the guards. "You came for me! Take me!"

I raised an eyebrow, amused by her stubbornness. The old Brielle would never speak against me.

"I'm not going to hurt your kids, Brielle. I'm not a monster. But I can't guarantee anything is not going to happen to your soulmate over there." I gestured to James who was still groaning in pain.

Tears rolled from Brielle's eyes as the guards pulled James away, knocking him out with their fist and she screamed. "Stop! Please stop!" She sobbed and I sighed.

"We can stop everyone from being hurt, Brielle. You just need to do what I tell you."

She gritted her teeth at me. "Fuck you asshole. I wish you died."

I studied her for a second, enjoying the new version of her, then gestured to the guards holding her.

"Take her away, we would talk when she remembers who she's talking to."

"No! Let me go!" She began protesting, but with just a syringe, she was out.

A smile widened at my lips. For sure she hates me now, but that's not what matters.

What matters is that I've gotten her back, and I was never going to let her go, no matter what.
