Chapter 66 - "Butterfly"

The midday sun hung high in the sky, casting a brilliant light over Tokyo and illuminating the path to the Himura mansion. A sleek, black SUV wound its way through the quiet, tree-lined roads leading to the estate. As it approached the mansion, the vehicle's presence exuded an air of authority and power, drawing attention to the formidable figure inside.

Sakura Himura, a woman of grace and unknown strength, stepped out of the SUV with a storm brewing behind her calm exterior. Her dark, angelic eyes, usually serene, were now filled with anger and contempt, reflecting the turmoil within. She walked briskly toward the mansion, her thoughts racing with a mix of fury and determination.

As she approached the grand entrance, the doors opened to reveal two of her loyal guardian ninjas, standing in silent reverence. The tension in the air was palpable.

"Himura-sama." The two ninjas welcomed her, bowing deeply.

"We have something important to utter regarding your dishonored five ninjas." One of the ninja said.

Sakura's eyes narrowed, her anger barely contained.

"What?" She exclaimed, her voice cold and hostile.

The second ninja stepped forward, his expression grim.

"They yearn for your forgiveness, Himura-sama. Their excuse was that they acted upon old orders and without the proper knowledge of how important that man was to you. They bear the punishments as of now." The second ninja said, bowing deeply.

Sakura's eyes blazed with fury. The thought of Ray, her one and true love, almost being killed by her own ninjas filled her an uncontrollable rage.

"But Himura-sama, they have expressed their deepest remorse and are willing to do anything to earn your forgiveness." The first ninja spoke again.

Sakura clenched her fists, her knuckles turning white.

She then turned her gaze toward the expansive garden visible through the mansion's large windows. The tranquility of the scene outside was a stark contrast to the storm raging within her. She took a deep breath, diluting the anger inside her, and regaining her calm composure yet her resolve still hardened.

"Tell them I've received their message. But know this, I will not tolerate such stupidity and incompetence anymore. Ensure the five understand the gravity of their actions." Sakura muttered calmly and firmly, her eyes narrowed and her knuckles already white.

"As you command, Himura-sama." The ninjas bowed once more, their loyalty and determination evident.

With that, Sakura dismissed them and made her way deeper into the mansion. She reached for her phone, her fingers moving with purpose as she dialed a number. She needed additional support, someone who could dive into the digital shadows.

Her phone connected to a call.

"Butterfly?" She spoke into the phone, her voice a controlled whisper of command.

There was a pause on the other end before a voice, low and distorted. So disturbingly distorted, Sakura couldn't affirmed their true gender.

"Yes?"

"I need your expertise again." Sakura asked them cautiously, her tone tinged with respect and wariness.

"What do you need? I hope its important." Butterfly responded, their voice cool and distant.

"I need you to dive deep and find everything you can about a woman named Risa Rourke. Leave no stone unturned, I want to know who she really is, where she comes from, and most importantly, know if she poses a threat."

There was a brief pause once again on the line before Butterfly replied.

"And what's in it for me? I don't do favors without good reason." Their tone guarded and showed mistrustful.

Sakura felt a twinge of frustration but remained compose.

"We will discuss payments once the task is complete. Focus on finding information about Risa Rourke." Sakura uttered, frustration on her voice.

"I'll consider it. Don't expect miracles, Himura-san." Butterfly's voice remained elusive.

"I need results quickly!" Sakura raised her voice. She sensed the subtle boldness in Butterfly's tone, a sign that they held their own ground.

"Understood. Expect updates soon." Butterfly replied, their voice softening but still retaining a sense of distance.

As Sakura ended the call, she couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. Butterfly's peculiar and mistrustful nature, with the distorted voice, added an extra layer of mystery to their interactions.

Despite the challenges, Sakura knew that she had to work Butterfly's elusive and unpredictable nature if she wanted to unravel the true identity of Risa Rourke and protect the one she cared and loved deeply.

Sakura took a seat on her chair. She leaned back, the feeling of uneasiness was gone but her thoughts were swirling. Dealing with Butterfly was always a delicate dance, but she knew that the person could uncover was invaluable.
