Chapter 61 - "Unveiled"

"Damn, that was close." Valkyrie, her chest heaving as she surveyed the battlefield.

Hera nodded at her, a grim smile on her face.

"Agreed, sister, but we made it through. Let's regroup with Rakshesha and Izanami and finish this mission." Hera suggested, her determination to lead the team and finish the mission was unshakable.

Their victory was hard-earned, a testament to their courage and skill. As they were about to regroup with Rakshesa and Izanami and prepare for the next phase of the mission, they heard loud, heavy footsteps echoing down the hall.

A chill ran down their spines as they turned to face the source of the noise. Emerging from the shadows was an overwhelmingly large figure, a towering, almost 7 foot armored mercenary, wielding a massive battle axe and behind him was another team of mercenary, backing the giant mercenary.

"What the fuck?" Valkyrie muttered and had a look of wince after seeing the giant man emerged from the shadows.

Hera and Valkyrie, breathing heavily, exchanged a quick glance as the giant mercenary stepped into view.

Hera tightened her grip on her handgun.

"Looks like we're not done yet." She muttered, her eyes locked on the imposing figure.

"Ugh, just how important this guy is." Valkyrie remarked, referencing the bomb maker's importance.

"But anyway.." Valkyrie uttered, she again drew her sword with a flourish, its blade catching the light in a dazzling display.

"Just another obstacle. Let's take him down." She added, also tightening her grip on the sword's handle.

The giant mercenary smirked.

"You think you can handle me, Queenbitches? Pathetic!" His voice a deep rumble.

Hera took a step foward.

"We've taken down worse than you." Hera said, her expression resolute.

Valkyrie twirled her sword expertly, the sharp edge whistling through the air as she showed off her skill.

"Bring it on, we're not afraid!" Valkyrie taunted.

The giant man swung his his battle axe, the sound of metal slicing through the air sending a shiver down their spines.

"Let's finish this, sister." Hera fired a shot at the giant man, her voice steady.

"Sure." Valkyrie responded. Valkyrie courageously charged at the giant man, her sword held high.

As Hera and Valkyrie braced themselves for the battle against the towering mercenary, the scene shifted again seamlessly to Izanami and Rakshesha. In a stark contrast to the fierce struggle their comrades faced, the two Queenswomen moved with deadly efficiency, cutting through the bomb maker's mask guards with ease.

The room echoed with the sound of their swift, precise strikes as they dispatched each tall guards, their movements a blur of lethal grace.

Izanami's eyes were cold and focused as she slashed through one guard after one another.

"Your attacks are flawless and fatal, sister." Izanami complimented Rakshesha while sidestepping a clumsy attack and retaliating with a swift, fatal blow.

Rakshesha scoffed, her strength and agility on full display, wielded her blades with deadly precision, slicing through her opponents effortlessly. She glanced at Izanami with a hint of appreciation in her eyes.

"Thanks, yours too." She said cordially but her voice hints there was still distrust towards Izanami.

Izanami's expression remained stoic, but there was a suble smile on her face.

"You're welcome, sister." She replied with a subtle smile while parrying a blow and countering with a lethat strike.

Rakshesha continued her assault, her blades flashing in the dim light as she cut down the guards.

"Let's finish this, Izanami!" She called out to Izanami.

"You can't win." The bomb maker sneered, his bravado faltering as his guards fell one by one.

Izanami's eyes narrowed, her focus solely on her target. Her movements fluid and deadly. Rakshesha's movements were a a whirlwind of precision strikes, each blow calculated to kill.

In a final, decisive move, Izanami and Rakshesha killed the remaining masked guards with swift and efficient strikes. The room fell silent save for the heavy breaths of the Queenswomen.

The bomb maker, now cornered and defenseless, glared defiantly at Izanami and Rakshesha.

"You may have won this round, but you won't stop what's coming for you." He spat, his arrogance undiminished even in the defeat.

Izanami's gaze was steely as she approached him, her expression unreadable.

Izanami didn't respond to the bomb maker's threat. She signaled Rakshesha to capture the bomb maker against his will, finishing the mission once and for all.

Unbeknownst to her, Rakshesha didn't move to her signal and suddenly...

A blade hurled straight to the bomb maker and it pierced into his chest, killing him instantly.

Izanami's eyes widened in shock.

Shocked, Izanami turned around and saw Rakshesha, standing motionless and had a blank expression.

"What have you done?" Izanami exclaimed, feeling a surge of anger and confusion.

A sly and dark smile crept on Rakshesha's face.

"He was a loose end." She said flatly, her sly smile unwavering.

Izanami clenched her fists, struggling to maintain her composure.

"This wasn't the plan." She said through gritted teeth.

"We needed him for information. Now we have nothing!" She added, feeling a deep sense of frustration.

Rakshesha stepped over the bomb maker's body, her demeanor unchanging and her dark and smile never fading.

"As I said, he was a loose end for her." Rakshesha chuckled in cunning manner.

"Her?!" Izanami exclaimed, becoming more confused to what she was implying.

Suddenly, the doors burst open, and a dozen heavily armed special forces men stormed in the room, surrounding Izanami and Rakshesha. Soon, a tall, beautiful woman with a firm and calm composure emerged. Her presence commanding and formidable.

Rakshesha hurriedly bowed like a servant humble in front of this woman.

Izanami's breath caught in her throat as she recognized the woman before.

"Risa Rourke?" She whispered, disbelief coloring her voice.

Risa Rourke, Ray's mother, stepped forward and faced the humbly bowing Rakshesha.

"I assume my son is safe, Rakshesha?" Risa quickly asked her, a cold smile on her lips.

"He was never unsafe to begin to with, Matriach. I had to inform you in an unexpected way so you'll come, because your sister, the Queen, has planned to jeopardize the safety of your bomb maker and extract valuable informations from him about your WMDs." Rakshesha humbly explained thoroughly.

Risa felt a little of disappointment towards Rakshesha for her lie and used her own son as an exuse, but it didn't matter to her as long she heard her son was safe and never harmed.

Risa then looked at the lifeless body of the bomb maker.

"Explain why my bomb maker is dead." Risa ordered, her voice firm and authoritative as ever.

"I had to kill him, Matriach, because I knew the bomb maker will give in to the three Queenswomen and spit out valuable information to them." Rakshesha answered truthfully.

"Very well, you've done a nice job." Risa applauded the false Queenswoman.

"Thank you, Matriach. As always, it's an honor to serve." Rakshesha rose, a pride look on her face.

Izanami's eyes darted between Risa and Rakshesha, her mind racing and couldn't process the current situation.

"You....you were working for the Matriach all along? She asked Rakshesha, her voice trembling with shock and anger.
