Chapter 44 - "A mother's scream for return"

In the soft embrace of a warm morning, Ray stirred from his sleep, his mind already racing with the weight of an unresolved mystery. Sunlight filtered through the window's curtains, casting gentle golden hues across his room.

As he rose from his bed and sat up, his thoughts immediately gravitated towards the lingering shadows of Nakamura's untimely demise.

The absence of closure gnawed at him, a relentless reminder that justice remained elusive.

He felt a soft yet unsubtle shiver traced its way down his spine as he recalled the faint rustle of leaves, the subtle shift in the night's rhythm that hinted at an unseen presence. Someone had been observing him, lurking in the shadows like a spectre of uncertainty as if that his arrival was somewhat anticipated.

The knowledge sent a ripple of caution through him, heightening his awareness of the dangers that lurked in the periphery of his pursuit.

With a sigh, Ray stood from his bed, his footsteps carrying the weight of unresolved mysteries. Determined yet cautious, he prepared himself for another day of relentless investigation.

While lost in thought, my phone suddenly rang on the nightstand.

I approached my night stand and picked up my phone.

"Yes?" I responded.

"Bro!"

It was Reina, calling early in the damn morning.

I sighed deeply.

"Meet me in this gym, I'll text you the address." Reina happily said.

"I'll buy you coffee and breakfast on my way there." She added.

"Thank you, I'll be on my way there. Give me forty-five minutes." I replied with appreciation.

"Great! See you there, bro!" Reina happily expressed and ended the call.

A minute later, Reina texted me the gym's address.

I walked towards my wardrobe and search for my appropriate gym clothes.

After looking for my gym clothes, I went to the bathroom, took a quick, cold shower and left the house.

As Ray made his way to the gym as Reina requested, a luxurious and modernized yacht sailed alone in the midst of the vast and secretive Pacific Ocean.

As the sun painted the horizon with hues of gold and yellow, Risa Rourke and Daffodil Rourke stepped onto their enormous, luxurious and breathtaking yacht named Elysium, a floating palace amidst the vastness of the Pacific Ocean near Japan. The sleek, modern design of the yacht gleamed under the gentle rays of shining sun, a testament to the opulence that surrounded them.

On deck, plush loungers beckoned invitingly, adorned with soft cushions and oversized umbrellas, offering a haven of relaxation and comfort. The salty breeze carried whispers of distant shores and the soft and serious chatters of the two sisters.

Elysium, a seamless blend of elegance and technology, boasted state-of-the-art amenities. From a sun-dappled jacuzzi overlooking the endless expanse of water to a chic outdoor bac stocked with the finest libations, every detail spoke of indulgence and luxury.

While Risa and Daffodil indulged in sunbathing, relaxation and fine liquor, they were approached by a staff member who operated their yacht.

"Madam Risa, Mada-"

But he was interrupted by Daffodil.

"Uh-uh, sweaty boy, did you forget something?" Daffodil asked him, unserious but threatening.

"Uhmmm.." The staff member couldn't answer as he doesn't know what he was forgetting.

Daffodil giggled like a sly and playful child.

"I'll count to three...."

"If I made it to one, something bad, something horrendous will happen to you." Daffodil threatened him in playful manner.

The staff member gulped his saliva, his hands are shaking and sweating in fear.

"3..."

The staff member begun to shake tremendously due to fear of the unknown.

"2.."

The staff member was still clueless yet already drowned in fear.

Daffodil smirked like a demoness.

As Daffodil was about to count to one...

The staff member shrieked and he instantly and humbly bowed in front of the silent Risa.

Daffodil chuckled again like a demonic and sly child.

"Good...." Daffodil was satisfied.

"Stop it, Daffodil!" Risa scolded her.

"But I was just joking, big sister." Daffodil teased.

"You're no fun sometimes." She added.

Risa grunted and glanced ahead.

"What is it?" Risa asked calmy.

"Madam Risa, we received a mysterious text from the satellite phone." The bowing staff member hurriedly answered.

"From who?" Risa asked him again.

"They didn't tell who they were but the sender reveals a word "QW." The staff answered.

Risa knew this was her inside woman.

"Come on, what did they say?" Daffodil asked impatiently.

"They said they were tasked on a mission. They didn't say what it was but they listed a name and a place." The staff member said.

Risa aggressively furrowed her eyebrows.

"The name, Ray and the place, Tokyo."

Suddenly, Risa stood up as if she sensed something was wrong.

"We must sail to Tokyo now!" Risa raised her voice, her composure and calm, stern demeanor wavering.

"Wha-" The staff member was about utter something but he was interrupted by Risa.

"I SAID, NOW!" Risa yelled him as if he was like a dog or her pet.

"GO!"

The staff member jumped in fear and hurriedly left the two sisters alone.
