Chapter 30 - "Dawning devil"

I'm inside my room, having my streak of coffee today.

They say too much coffee will make you worry like hell...

But what the hell is a worry? And how do I feel worry inside my empty heart?

The only time I felt worried was when my father threw a fit at me because he was overly intoxicated and kept calling me names and insults.

Since then, I stopped worrying and forgot how it feels to worry about something or someone.

While drinking my coffee, I keep scrolling through the news on my phone.

It is filled with utter chaos, disarray and the incompetence of the police forces.

Crime is rampant in Tokyo right now thanks to the fearmongering, sick twisted acts and the loathsome and crime attempts of the Yakuza gangsters.

Rape, abuse, drug use, arson, arms dealing, corruption, kidnapping, human trafficking, sex slavery, illegal club activities and especially the streak murders of young innocent men and women like Nakamura.

Maybe I should start my hunt soon and introduce myself to them as the Dawning Devil.

While I kept scrolling through my phone, I sensed that someone was at my door.

I turned around and saw Reina, with a hurting look.

"Reina-chan?" I asked her with a confused look.

"You forgot to knock?" I asked with mild annoyance.

"Gomenasai." Reina apologetically said with somber eyes.

"What do you want?" I asked directly to the point.

"Can i talk to you?" Reina asked somberly.

"About?"

"My Okasan and Otousan, your father."

"What about them?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

Reina then approached me slowly.

"Earlier, I heard them yelling at each other, arguing at each other, fighting at each other." Reina said with a sad tone and her head lowered.

"And my Okasan has an issue where she's getting these sudden outbursts."

"Hm." I expressed disinterest on this one.

"I don't know why or what's wrong with Okasan these past few days." Reina added.

I sighed.

"Well, just ask her what the hell is her problem. Simple as that." I bluntly advised.

Reina shook her head.

"No, it's not that easy and I don't want to get yelled at, Ray-kun." Reina refused.

"Why the hell not? You're much more closer with your mother, right?" I bluntly said.

"There's nothing to lose if you would just approach her and outright ask her what the hell is up." I advised again.

Reina didn't respond and she's still staring at the ground.

I scoffed.

"Well, if she yells at you, just yell back." I solemnly said.

Reina chuckled.

Finally, she looked at me with a soft smile on her face.

"I'll ask her, Ray-kun, thank you." Reina gratefully said.

I nodded at her.

She then hurriedly stood up and walked away from me. But as soon as she reached for the door.

"Oh, Ray-kun?"

She turned back.

"Yes?"

"Are we still up for that gym da- errr training session?" Reina wanted to be reassured.

I slowly nodded at her again to express my answer.

"Great!" Reina happily exclaimed.

She then opened the door.

"See ya later, bro!" She greeted me goodbye giddily.

And she left.

A minute later, there was a knock on my door.

I sighed with annoyance.

"What!?" I yelled at the door.

"Senpai! It's me!"

It's Shinji.

"What the hell do you want?! I yelled again.

Shinji then entered my room.

"Was that Reina-chan?" He asked.

While he's speaking something, I have to ask Shinji about the whereabouts of the Yakuzas that lurk and flock at night If I have to find Nakamura's murderer and give her the justice that she wanted.

"Hey Shinji, where do Yakuzas mostly roam and lurk at night?" I asked suddenly.

Shinji had a puzzled look on his face.

"Senpai? Wh-why do you want to know where they are?" Shinji worriedly asked.

"Remember what I said that I'd take care of your pending debt?"

Shinji nodded

"Yes, senpai, why?"

I formed a devilish grin on my face.

"Because I would like to visit them tonight."

Shinji widened his eyes

"Bu-but Senpai!

"They're fucking dangerous and they will surely kill your stupid ass!" Shinji warned me.

But warnings are nothing againts me, againts the Dawning Devil.
