Lily crashed into a hard body right after receiving kisses and goodbyes from her parents and brother. She looked up to see a pair of hazel eyes staring intently at her.
Freddie pulled her to him encircling her body with his strong arms.
Lily hugged him back. Today was her first time defending a case at the courthouse. Winning and setting her client free was what she had wished for.
She felt very a live. The most important people in her life were there to witness her first case. She knew Freddie wasn't in there. However, he got to know of whatever that went on in there.
He was her bestie and best friends never left each other's side.
Lily didn't want to break from the hug. But it had to end. The guy had something else under his sleeves.
He cupped Lily's face with both hands and sucked the life out of her.
Lily thought she was going to die. She was taken aback. But she wasn't going to let the moment pass without replying to him.
She kissed him back, sucking on his lower lip. Though that was her first kiss, she knew how to do it.
Freddie took his time to savoir her lips. He took time for the lower lip and later switched to the upper one.
He had wanted the moment for a while. He had even thought to himself that he couldn't get his best friend.
Friends who did everything but couldn't fall in love. He never imagined in his wildest dreams that a day would come like this for him to be kissing his best friend, and of all in front of a courthouse.
Was that even right?
Lily pulled back slowly breathing very heavily. She lowered her gaze whilst catching her breath.
She didn't want to look at him.
A finger made her face him. Freddie's eyes shone with excitement. She had never seen his eyes sparkle like this before.
Freddie moved his hands to her shoulders. Hers went around his waist.
"Date me." He said.
Lily's lips curved into a sly smile. She didn't want to show her teeth. She had exposed it to almost everybody today.
"Yeah, of course." She replied without hesitation.
They heard clapping and cheering. She saw a crowd staring at them when she tilted her head to the right. They all had their phone cameras on them.
She remembered they were all in the courtroom.
"You." She gave his chest a light slap.
"You should have known. They were all in there." He turned to take a view of the courthouse.
Lily smiled shyly. The fact that her best friend proposed to her was very thrilling.
They had been seen together several times on TV. Him escorting her to get her awards and vice versa.
"Congratulations!" He finally stated his main purpose.
Actually, he didn't plan on proposing to her there. He guessed the atmosphere permitted it.
"Loved your style of defending. You know, you'd be my lawyer on the day of my ruling."
Lily moved her right hand from his waist and pinched him to come back to reality if he was dreaming.
"Don't say that. You're never going to go for any case ruling." She assured him.
Her hand was already fidgeting with his shirt buttons. Freddie's hands went around her slim waist instead.
"Why do you say that? Anyone could be a victim."
"Pass you or any of our relatives."
Freddie had to accept defeat.
"We should celebrate this." He changed the topic.
Without waiting for her answer, he led her to his car. All eyes were on them.
As gentle as ever as he was, the people around felt like been the only two of them as he opened the passenger side for her and fastened her seatbelt as well.
"Where are going to?" She asked later.
"I was thinking of going to waste the night." He took a quick glance of her and focused on the road.
"With our company. They're even waiting for us over there."
Lily agreed with him.
She had wanted to be with him alone since it was only the beginning of their amorous relationship. But she liked the idea that their friends were already waiting for them.
